ABOUT US
We advocate a Scam Free Philippines.
SMS Foundation, Inc. advocates a Scam Free Philippines through financial education,
specifically stock market. We teach short courses and is currently partnering with
associations and universities to deepen its purpose of providing a continuing
professional education or CPE.
The SMS, is the first and only stock market school in the country, a SEC-registered
training company since 2011 but has been in the service for the investing public since
2007. Our dream is to help achieve a Financially Literate & Scam-Free Philippines.
We work for the fulfillment of this dream by providing quality & inexpensive market
education to help level and balance the stock market playing field, increase investors
trust, public appreciation and ultimately, convert spectators & students into intelligent
investors and market professionals.
We are independent from the exchange and stock brokerage firms
One of the distinct characteristics of the Stock Market School (The SMS) is its
independence. Despite our core faculty being accredited by PSE Trading Participants
as SEC licensed CSRs or Certified Securities Representatives, we maintain our
independence from brokerage firms and from the Stock Exchange since we believe that
its a very important factor to be unbiased, balanced and effective teachers of stock
market and stock market trading.
Core Faculty credentials
Briefly, we have at least 10 coaches in our faculty roster. Aside from being industry
practitioners most of them are MBA titled and university professors from prestigious
universities in the Philippines like UST, Ateneo de Manila, St. Scholasticas College,
Southville International School and BSU. Each with over 15-year experience in
finance, but they are unbiased in teaching and promoting the stock market industry.
They are indifferent as to where investors will trade and invest as long as they do and
do it properly.
This principle is based on the fact that, each trade no matter how small, will redound to
the entire system for the eventual development of the local market, the entire economy
then the entire country. Overtime, personal benefits will also be secured.
With more than 15 years of market experience, several cycles of the bulls and the
bears were already witnessed and thus, these mentors are already very equipped to
teach all social hierarchy not just with the knowledge but the wisdom, colorful life

lessons and the industry culture showing some market rudiments in the Philippine
setting. Most of these information could never be found in textbooks.

Our ultimate Goal

With love of country, fellowmen and industry, we are convinced that our market
education efforts will help exponentially increase the number of market professionals
and informed-educated investors that will in turn help increase market liquidity which will
ultimately develop the Philippine Stock Market. Over the years, our daily peso value
turnovers remained very thin (est. within PHP10B-15B daily average) compared to our
neighboring markets.
Improved and large market liquidity is a key factor for a healthy and developed market.
This is also the only way that the investing public can make money in stock trading and
investing. .

To date, we have already helped a few thousand new market enthusiasts through
briefings and school road shows (Davao City, Cebu, Tarlac, Manila) and graduated
more than 200 professionals through the 6-month Stock Market Specialist Course.
Majority of our graduates are now trading while some are now market professionals as
licensed traders and analysts.
100% passing rate in CSR licensing test.
We have a 90% passing rate in the SEC licensure of brokers or CSR examination.

7. Fundamental Analysis
This will help participants to understand what are the fundamental factors (macro/micro; positive or
negative) that need to be analysed in order to predict the direction of the market and the movement of
its prices and volume.
On the micro side, this lesson will show all the listed companies in PSE and their respective performance
as companies and as stocks. Rankingswill be done to show and identify companies by Management,
Business Models, who has the biggest assets, liabilities, profits, dividend yield as well as comparative
financial ratios to determine which stocks are cheaper or expensive and therefore which can be bought
value for money, which ones are already bankrupt. Listed companies will be presented by industry,
making it easy to see better companies within the same categories.
