Tell us about your collaboration
Thecake community, aslarge as

‘ne bond over not only our art, but
also comiect on apersonal level. We
reatean extended family, Just like
‘many other family and community,
we learn things about one another,
share our personal experiences and
‘want to be there for one another
After realising how many of our
fellow cake artists had childre
fiends or other loved ones on
the spectrum, the desire to help
and raise awareness could not be
stronger. Before we knew it, we were
a group of nearly 100, The result?
collaboration in which each and
every single person exhibited such
assion for the rople and it
showed through in thelr pieces,
What inspired you to do this
theme?
From thevery beginning, our
intention was clear... bring
awareness. With that, we decided
to take the opportunity to also
draw attention to charities who
provide much needed servicesto
those on the spectrum, aswellas
their families. We partnered with
two well deserving charities: Global
Autism Project and National Autism
‘Association.As time passed, the collaboration
began to evolve further...nspiration
‘was pouring in from everywhere
From therapy tools to books and
‘movies to inspiration drawn from
loved ones. And then there were our
dear friendsat The Artof Autism
who provided access to artist 0
sspecirum who agreed to have thelr
‘own artwork used as inspiration.
‘Toll us abouta few of the pieces
that have been made
We lew we were heading
somewhere special, but we had no
‘dea Just hows special it was until the
final pleces began to berevealed.
We could not be more surprised.
‘The emotion and connection could
actually be felt in every piece. With
every completed submission, we
were truly awestruck.

If we were to do it again, we really
dorit know ifwe would do anything
differently. Yes, at times it felt asf
the collaboration took on alfe of
its own, butwewoulda’t haveit
any other way. Our group is proud

as up and coming stars, hobby
bakersand everything in between.
Each of these people bought
something special to the table,
