DUTIES

OLCC BACKGROUNDS $25 fee. For Temporary event applications and OLCC
applications. Run a CCH on applicant using purpose code L. Run an address check
in RMS to see if there are any complaints. For the OLCC Application there should be
an Individual History application attached.
ATF BACKGROUNDS - No fee. Run a CCH on applicant using purpose code F. Check
RMS, OECI for any negative contacts that would be concerning. Fill out the name
and address section and give to the Sheriff for his signature.
ATF FORMS No fee or background needed. Can do an RMS inquiry to see if there
are any concerns.
OFFICE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT RECORDS CHECKS No Fee. This is a local
agency check only. Check RMS records for any negative contacts.
REVOCATION REPORT A yearly report of revoked CHLs
REVOKED PERMITS
DENIED PERMITS NOTICE OF CHL HOLDER MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTY When a person moves to
our county from another Oregon county. They need to change their CHL to
Josephine County. We need to send a TTY to the originating county letting them
know that we now have a CHL for their license holder. On the flip side, when we
receive notice that our license holder has moved, we need to update our records
and cancel the LEDS entry.
REJECTED FINGERPRINTS OSP will send the prints back to us when they are
unreadable. We need to contact the applicant (CHL only) and have them come back
for new prints at no charge.
PROTECTION ORDER DISMISSALS These will get faxed to the civil dept on the day
of dismissal. They need to be given to the person that handles protection orders
immediately to be cleared from LEDS/NCIC. The courts will also follow-up with the
original form.
BRADY BACKGROUND CHECKS FROM OSP The OSP firearms unit will fax a request
for information about an arrest and or CHL revocations or denials. If arrest
information is wanted, send to dispatch. If the request is for CHL info, pull the CHL
file and fax to OSP.
FINGERPRINTS (APPLICANT/PROBATION/SEX OFF/JUVENILE) Fee $10 per print card.
Needs government issued ID. Use the blank blue applicant card. Fingerprints for

CHL will be on the blue card with our ORI printed, cost is $15 payable to OSP. No
fee for probation, sex offenders or juvenile cases. Probation will provide their clients
with a card. Sex offenders need to be printed on Red criminal cards. Juveniles need
to be printed on card with carbon copies attached. Prints for CJIS security need to
be printed on blue card and put the appropriate ORI (OR0170000 OR OR017013C).
ID BADGES (CASA Juvenile) The people assigned as a CASA will have a form from
the courts appointing them as a CASA advocate, they will also need their ID. Go to
the civil program, ID badges/wizard/juvenile.

BALANCE CASH (Wednesday)
GOOD GUY LETTER No fee. Take a copy of ID. These are local records checks
only. Do a name scan in RMS. A form letter is typed up and signed by the Sheriff.
The letter is in the S Drive/Sheriff/Records/Records/No Arrest.
