HEIDEGGER'S INTERPRETATION OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIOSITY
IN ST. PAUL'S EPISTLES TO THE THESSALONIANS

Heidegger tried to explain the factual expirience of the Christian religious life via
the methodical process of phenomenological description. As a proper paradigm for this
kind of explication, he started interpreting the Epistles of St. Paul to the Thessalonians
which, according to his belief, were the most concise in depicting the life of a Christian
believer as seen against the background of accentuated insecurity, existential incertitude,
fears, hopes, etc.
