A. Title
:
THE MATHEMATICS MONTH 2015 (THE 1st FESTIVAL)
B. Date
:
January 2015
C. Theme :
Search, Explore and Enjoy Life through Mathematics
(SEE thru Math)
Rationale
Based on actual interviews, ambushed or formal, most of the La Filipina
National High School students are suffering from severe math anxiety. Others even
abhor the subject (including the teacher). They feel intensely frustrated and
helpless about their ability to do oral, written or any activity related to the subject.
Studies and researches also revealed that this ill-feeling for Math is common among
students under any grade and their number is exponentially increasing. Having this
in mind, the Mathematics Teachers of the La Filipina National High School would like
to introduce a fte that will accentuate in SEEing life thru Math. This is just a first
leap, a hopeful attempt to recondition the learners mind towards Mathematics.

III.

At the end of the activity, the following objectives are attained:
A. The students enjoyed the series of activities related to mathematics;
B. The anxiety in dealing with day-to-day Math encounter is diminished (if not
