Gifted hands (summary)

1961- Detroit, Theres a young boy that wants to be a nationary doctor someday namely
Benjamin Carson. But he always fails on his tests. His mother, Mrs. Carson cannot read thats
why they need to just watch two programs in one week and also they need to get two books from
the library every week and report it to their mother. 1965 when Benjamin got an award for being
the most improved student. A year of uncontrolled tempers that Benjamin the people with bad
influences and causes him to hurt emotionally and physically especially when he tried to hurt his
mother with a hammer and his friend with a knife that is fake.1969 at Yale University where
Benjamin was studying neurosurgery. His mother asked him if whats best for him when it comes
to studying and he answered reading. There is also a time that he dreamed of his mother saying
that he dont need a book because he got a book inside him.1976 at John Hopkins hospital,
Benjamin was applying for being neurosurgeon then the administrator asked him if why did he
apply and he answered that he had a good grades, excellent recommendations and he believe in
the miracle inside our brain. His first patient is a girl and his operation has been successful with
hemispherectomics (treatment of removing left hemisphere of the brain). Before he encounter his
second operation he first experience to be a father hoping for a child but suddenly his first child
died cause by his wifes bleeding. 1987 there were married couple having conjoined twins but
before their child will be operated the doctor advised them to just pray, and he tell to them that
the surgeons need to stop their childs heart to stop bleeding because their brain has thick vessels.
September 5, 1987 is the day the twin will be separated from each other they start at 9:41 am
then its 12:19 when they start separating the twins then 2:15 am when they start the heart again
to function and after all September 6, 1987 ,5:15 am when the surgery ends and they were very
successful. Benjamin was congratulated by all especially the parents of the twin, his wife and her
mother. And after these successful operations, Dr. Benjamin Carson continued his success.
Reaction
I am truly amazed of what Dr. Benjamin Carson did. He was so intelligent that he start on fails
before he success. He was such a good imagination mover that he applies it in whatever he does.
But I hate him most when the time he cannot control his temper anymore. He did not think
before he do like when he raise his voice when he and her mother was having an argument. I hurt
him also when he join wrong people, The people that will bring him to danger like when he use
his money to buy a knife and used it to hurt others. Dr. Benjamin is what I want to be someday. I
want also to help people at the same situation.
