FORMAT FOR SYNOPSIS

The synopsis for B. Tech Final Year should have the following contents.
1) Introduction & Motivation
This section should contain the brief introduction about the problem domain. It should
answer some or all the following question
o
o
o
o
o
o

What is the history of the problem?

Why is this problem interesting?
When and why does the problem occur?
Is the problem already solved? What is done now?
Are there any similar systems or solutions to the one you propose? If so,
reference and very briefly explain them.
Are there are possible improvements to current solutions?

2) Project Objective and Scope

This should give a clear picture of the project. Objective should be clearly specified.
What the project ends up to and in what way this is going to help the end user has been
mentioned. (Clearly specify what you will do as part of your project)

3) Pert Chart/ Gantt Chart

A PERT chart is a project management tool used to schedule, organize, and coordinate
tasks within a project. PERT stands for Program Evaluation Review Technique.
A PERT chart presents a graphic illustration of a project as a network diagram consisting
of numbered nodes (either circles or rectangles) representing events, or milestones in the
project linked by labeled vectors (directional lines) representing tasks in the project. The
direction of the arrows on the lines indicates the sequence of tasks. Here is an example of
pert chart. Red line indicates critical path.

4) Technical feasibility
(Here you must specify how you propose to implement your solution. It must include things like
the tools, language, libraries available, etc. )
5) 6) References
Include the abstract of the referred/base paper if any.
