The questions are focused in New Zealand, as we believed that aside from
showing both our communication skills, it is also very beneficial for the
students to learn about a country such as New Zealand that is very diverse
and well preserved. We wanted to show them through the simple questions
the similarities between the Philippines and New Zealand.

Questions
1. Can you describe your country ( New Zealand ) ?
New Zealand is a very beautiful country, that can be quite fascinating
to foreigners, as there are many nature spots that are almost
untouched to this day.
2. How would you describe life in New Zealand?
Life in New Zealand is good. There's a lot of greenery, and cities are
pretty small. The beaches are quite nice and there is always plentiful
seafoods. Although the weather is generally quite wet and cold, and we
dont see a lot of sunny days, especially during winter.
3. In terms of diversity in culture, how well do you think New Zealand is
Faring?
Our schools and neighborhoods are quite diverse in culture. My school,
Manurewa High School, is a good example. There are about 40+
different nationalities, from European to Polynesian to Indian and Asia
and many others.
4. Does that mean that New Zealanders welcomes everyone?
Everyone is generally welcomed, because the country consists of so
many other cultures already. There are always side remarks about
every culture but they're not really meant to be offending or harming.
5. Moving on, What kind of government do you have?
We have a democratic government, with prime minister as the head.
5.2 Ive read somewhere that Queen Elizabeth II is your queen?
Oh yeah, she is our queen too, but we have our own Prime Minister
that is the representative of the country.
6. What religions are dominant in your country?
Christian, Mormon, Seven-day Adventist, Jenovah Witness, then theres
Muslim and Hindu. There are a lot because of so many cultures ( in the
country ).
7. Aside from the Kiwi bird as your national bird, can you tell me some
other ( like dance, sports, animals ) ?
National Sports is Rugby, National dance is Haka ( a traditional Maori
dance ) .

8. Can you tell us about the education system in New Zealand? Do you
also follow the K-12 Curriculum?
We do it similar. Primary ( year 0-6 ), then Intermediate ( year 7-8 ),
High-school ( year 9-13 ), then you can choose whether to go to
University or not.
9. Is it true that New Zealand has 20 sheep per person?
(She sent me a statistics pic. instead but heres what it says) by 30
June 2015, the estimated resident population had reached 4.60
million and as of June 30,2015 the estimated sheep is 29.5 million.
So this is not true, the sheep to person ration has fallen to 6:1 ( six
sheep per person).
9.2 How does it feel to know that youve been conquered by Sheeps ?
Eh, theyre pretty harmless and fluffy.
10. Lastly, what places, dishes or events would you recommend to
tourist(s)?
I personally would recommend Queens Town, in the South Island of
New Zealand, as there are popular snowfields that are good fun in
winter, and the scenery is good also.
