COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course focuses on concrete, its materials, strength development, types and tests on materials to
develop concrete with good engineering properties. The procedure to design proportion of materials to
produce concrete of required strength based on DOE method is also included. The properties of
admixtures, effect of curing, and special types of concrete are also discussed.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course is intended to impart knowledge to the students on concrete properties, mix design,
concrete strength development, durability of concrete, concrete deterioration and methods of concrete
repair.
