The Hamilton Center for the Arts first opened its CLASSES:
doors in June 2008, on Village Day of the Chenango
Music Festival. During these past 2 years, the HCA

has expanded twice and is now approximately 3,200
square feet. The space is made up of an art gallery Class Name Fee

The Multi-Arts Program
The purpose of the program is to provide children
with opportunities to involve themselves in arts
activities on a regular basis. It has been proven that
arts education helps children develop and grow.

confidence

The Multi-Arts Program offers classes in many areas
of the arts, including art, music, theater, dance and
creative writing, to elementary and middle school
students. Instructors are community members,
college and high school students.
MAP classes are generally taught Mondays through
Fridays from 3 to 6pm. Tuition is $15/day
($60/month) for the 3 hour program. Partial and full
scholarships are available.
The Multi-Arts Summer Camp
Instructor: Kathy Herold
First Session: August 16th – 20th
Second Session: August 23rd – 27th
Half-day fee: $140.00
8:30AM – 1:00PM or 1:00PM – 5:30PM
Full-day fee: $250.00
8:30AM – 5:30PM
This is the first year that the HCA is offering Multi-Arts Camps
to children. With this change, children will be involved in a
variety of activities in many areas of the arts.
Activities: Puppet making and show; outside painting, piano
lessons, Zumba Dance, drumming, beading, embroidery,
field trips, sculpture from recycled materials, collage with
found objects, write and illustrate story and bind into book
form, sketchbook, paper maché, music performances—
children and visiting musicians.
*Tax-deductible donations can now be made to Community
Action Partnership for low-income children to participate in
the HCA’s Multi-Arts Program and Multi-Arts Camp. Please

Beginning Stained Glass
Workshop
Mondays: 6:30PM – 9:30PM, Starting July 12
Instructor: Karen Pitts
Fee: $120/5 week session
If you have ever thought you would like to learn how to do
stained glass projects, here is your chance. Having worked in
stained glass for many years, Karen delights in sharing her
excitement of the art with others. This class is a beginning
workshop, teaching the basics in making beautiful pieces in
stained glass. This class will cover learning techniques in
glass choice, proper tool usage in addition to the actual
techniques involved with creating and assembling a finished
project. For Karen it starts with the excitement of choosing
just the right pieces of glass for each project. You will go
home your very first night with a small finished piece! All
materials and tools provided.
Mixed Bag Art Classes for Adults
Wednesdays: 6:00PM – 9:00PM

Starting July 7th
Fee: $100.00/four classes, $30/class
Projects to include but not limited to: landscape
painting, furniture painting, stepping stones, paper
maché, collage, felting, beaded and chain mail

A rising senior at Hamilton Central School, Isadora has
played in the Colgate University Orchestra for two years and
the Colgate Chamber Players for one year. Upon graduation
she plans to study chamber music in college.

Fiddle:

Fluent in fiddle styles: bluegrass, blues, Cajun, folk, country,
swing, jazz, Appalachian, Irish, improvisational, and
contemporary. Fiddle lessons can concentrate on one style or
a survey of styles. Liz has been a private instructor for
violin/fiddle for 8 years.

Community Open Studio

Saturday Afternoons, 12:00PM - 3:00PM
Spend an afternoon painting, drawing, working on a
collage. Most art materials available for use. Work
on a dance routine or play some music-drums,
electric bass, guitar and piano are already here.
Bring friends and spend time visiting and creating.

Figure Drawing

First session starts July 6th
Second session starts August 3rd
Fee: $50.00/4-week session, $15.00/drop in
This class will provide students with the opportunity
to gain experience drawing and painting with a live
nude model as subject. All levels are welcome.
Photography Club
First and Third Tuesdays of the month, 7:00pm
$5/monthly dues
The Photography Club will give people an
opportunity to spend time with others who share a
passion for the art. Share tricks, tips and hints,
evaluate each other’s photos, complete monthly
photo ‘assignments’, attend mini workshops and
plan outings. All levels of experience welcome.
Studio Art Class
Thursdays: 6:00PM – 9:00PM
Instructor: Rosita Dickson
Fee: $90.00/6-week session, $25.00/drop in
Session starts July 8th
In addition to being an experienced art teacher,
Rosita’s artistic talents range from jewelry making to
portraiture to fashion design. Some of the topics of
instruction in this class are human figure, portraits,
still life, landscape, and collage using acrylics,
pencil, charcoal, pastels as well as other mediums.
This class accommodates all levels of experience.
