The Education in Indonesia

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb
The honorable teachers and all my friends.
First of all, I would like to say thanks to the God, the almighty who has been giving us the
mercy and blessing till we can attend this meeting without any obstacles in this good place and
time. Secondly, I would like to say thanks to you all for giving me the chance to deliver my
speech entitled The Education in Indonesia
Well Everybody, everything needs mechanisms and theories to do something that we want
in order the result is like we expected. And education is the source of the theories of something to
be done according to what we expected. Education is combination of knowledge, attitude, and
skill that reflected in daily activities. So, education must be had by all of the citizens to improve a
countys progress. If the county wants to advance the industry, so its citizen must be able to create
the classy products. And if the county wants to advance the technology, so its citizen must be
guided into creator of powerful machine. So does in Indonesia, if we want to increase the walfare
of people, so the citizen who produced should be multitalented in order to adjust the
circumstances.
Unfortunately, education in Indonesia now instead of getting better even worse.
According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),
the quality of education of Indonesia ranks 124 of 187 countries in the world. In Indonesia itself,
there are so many ways that has been done to advance the education, such as physical education
and spiritual education. However, many obstacles that hinder the development of education in
Indonesia that makes education in Indonesia still relatively slumps. Whereas, in this era of
modernization, we are required to explore the many kinds of science. If just sit around and then
all of sudden, the education will more slumps than before.
There are many factors that have made the education in Indonesia getting worse. First, as
we know now, the quality of physical infrastructure in Indonesia is very low. There are so many
school buildings that has damaged, the use of media for studying arent effective, and then the
books in the school libraries arent complete. Moreover, there are schools that dont have their
own building, dont have library, dont have laboratorium and etc. Secondly, the bad effects of
technology. For example handphone, some of students more concerned to reply a message from
their friends instead of pay attention at the teacher that still explaining in front of the class. The
impact, they dont understand about that has been explained so they cheated on exam. In this
case, school is less of firm to follow up the school rules. Thirdly, the incompatibility between
educational outcomes and needs of workface. This is caused by the material of curriculum that
lack of functional to the skills required when the students enter the workface.
So, if want to solve the problem, the government must increase the infrastructure to the
schools, the school must give the sanctions firmly to the students who break the school rules. All
the circles have role to advance the education in Indonesia in order the education of Indonesia
can be better than before.
I think thats all I want to deliver to you. Im so sorry for everything. Thank you very
much for your good attention.
