TAG PARENT INFORMATIONAL MEETING 7:30AM

This was a meeting to answer parent questions regarding the
placement of elementary school TAG students into middle school
TAG classes. A TAG math teacher, TAG middle school coordinator,
and I watched the presentation from the elementary TAG
department chair for parents. The bulk of the concerns of parents
were addressed, as this is a big transition from pull out class in
elementary one day a week to full time TAG classes in middle
school. Many parents were focused on their concerns being that
classes were mixed model in middle school, and their TAG
children would be in classes with non-TAG students. Parents also
expressed concerns that not all middle school teachers are TAG
certified, but are teaching TAG classes. Concerns were addressed
by all members present, and explained to help calm parent
concerns.
