Introductory Rites
PRIEST: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit.
PEOPLE: Amen.
PRIEST: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
PEOPLE: And with your Spirit.

Holy Eucharist and to witness the Sacrament of Marriage
between Jonathan and Ma. Lourdes. As their Christian
Family, we remind them that they are called to life of
holiness and fidelity as husband and wife. Let us rejoice
with them and ask Gods blessing for them and their
future children.

Penitential Rite
PRIEST: Brethren, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare
ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
ALL:

I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and

sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in
my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed
to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my
most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever
virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and
sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

#MaryJonEverAfter

PRIEST: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.
PEOPLE: Amen.

Opening Prayer
PRIEST: Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy
mystery, a symbol of Christs love for His Church. Hear
our prayers for Jonathan and Ma. Lourdes. With faith in
You and in each other, they pledge their love today. May
their lives always bear witness to the reality of that love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who
lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever.
PEOPLE: Amen.
COMMENTATOR: Please, be seated for the Readings.

Liturgy of the Word

First Reading
(Ephesians 5:21-33)

READER: A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.

Wives and husbands, be subordinate to one another out of reverence
for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands as to the Lord,
for the husband is head of his wife just as Christ is head of the
Church, as He himself is the Savior of the Church, His body. So
wives must submit themselves completely to their husbands just as
the Church submits itself to Christ. Husbands love your wives just as
Christ loved the Church and gave His life for it. He did this to
dedicate the church to God by His Word, after making it clean by
washing it in water, in order to present the church to Himself in all its
beauty; pure, faultless, without spot or wrinkle or any other
imperfection.
Husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves
his wife loves himself. For no one hates his own flesh but rather
nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the Church, because we
are members of His body.
As the scripture said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and
mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one.
This is a great mystery in reference to Christ and the Church. But it
also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, and
every wife must respect her husband.
READER: The Word of the Lord.
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

READER:

I will bless the Lord at all times:

his praise shall ever be in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the Lord;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.
I will bless the Lord at all times.

I will bless the Lord at all times.
Look to him that you may be radiant with joy,

When the afflicted man called out,
the Lord heard, and from all his distress he saved him.
I will bless the Lord at all times.
The angel of the Lord

Second Reading

(1 Corinthians 12: 31-13:8)

READER:

A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to

the Corinthians.

Set your hearts on greater gifts. Now I will show you the way, which
surpasses all the other. If I speak with human tongues and angelic as
well, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong, a clanging cymbal. If I
have the gift of prophecy and, with full knowledge, comprehend all
mysteries. If I have faith great enough to move mountains, but have
not love, I am nothing. If I give everything I have to feed the poor and
hand over my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not put on
airs, it is not snobbish. Love is never rude, it is not self-seeking, it is
not prone to anger; neither does it brood over injuries. Love does not
rejoice in what is wrong but rejoices with the truth. There is no limit
to loves forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure.
Love never fails.

As we celebrate the feast of the Holy Child, let

us give thanks to the Father who has made us
his beloved children in Christ and given us the
Spirit of wisdom and understanding. Let us
remember in a special way all the children of
the world as we pray:
Listen to the prayers of your children, Lord.
For our Holy Father, bishops, and church
leaders: May they continue to proclaim, by
word and example, that Gods kingdom belongs
to children, to the poor, and the humble. We
pray:
Listen to the prayers of your children, Lord.
For children who beg, scavenge for food, or are
forced into labor: May our civil leaders work to
give them hope for a better tomorrow. We
pray:
Listen to the prayers of your children, Lord.
For children of broken homes and those who
suffer because of neglectful and uncaring
parents: May adults take their responsibility
toward them seriously, love and care for them,
and show them the beauty of life. We pray:
Listen to the prayers of your children, Lord.
For adults: May they never lose the spirit of a
child and so live with one another in
friendship, freedom, and openness. We pray:

Preface
PRIEST: The Lord be with you.
PEOPLE: And with your Spirit.
PRIEST: Lift up your hearts.
PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord.
PRIEST: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
PEOPLE: It is right and just.
PRIEST: It is truly right and just,
our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere
to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
For you have forged the covenant of marriage
as a sweet yoke of harmony
and an unbreakable bond of peace,
so that the chaste and fruitful love of holy Matrimony
may serve to increase the children you adopt as your own.
By your providence and grace, O Lord,
you accomplish the wonder of this twofold design:
that, while the birth of children brings beauty to the world,
their rebirth in Baptism gives increase to the Church,
through Christ our Lord.
Through him, with the Angels and all the Saints,
we sing the hymn of your praise,
as without end we acclaim:

16

ALL:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

COMMENTATOR: Please all kneel.

Consecration
PRIEST: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
so that they may become for us
the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed
and entered willingly into his Passion,
he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
For this is my body which will be given up for you.
In a similar way, when supper was ended,
he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
for this is the chalice of My blood,
the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
which will be poured out for you and for many,
for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this in memory of me.

PRIEST: The mystery of faith.
PEOPLE: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your
Resurrection until you come again.
PRIEST: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death
and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord,
the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that,
partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church,
spread throughout the world,
and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with Francis, our Pope
and Antonio, our Bishop and all the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters
who have fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection,
and all who have died in your mercy:
welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray,
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints
who have pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life,
and may praise and glorify you
through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

The Nuptial Blessing

sisters, Gods blessing upon Jonathan and Ma. Lourdes,

#MaryJonEverAfter

19

PRIEST: Holy Father, maker of the whole world, who created man

be crowned with your blessing, we humbly beseech you for
these your servants, who are joined today in the Sacrament
of Matrimony.
May your abundant blessing, Lord, come down upon this

aflame from on high, so that, living out together the gift of
Matrimony, they may adorn their family with children
and enrich the Church.
In happiness may they praise you, O Lord, in sorrow may
they seek you out; may they have the joy of your presence
to assist them in their toil, and know that you are near to
comfort them in their need; let them pray to you in the
holy assembly and bear witness to you in the world, and
