CON2 SuperController Service and Installation manual. ‘Animation Display “Fast Entry” manual. PSP. Progressive System Programmer manual. This Tournament Mode manual. 1.2 Physical Component Setup Presented here is a synopsis of the physical setup required for utilizing the Tournament Mode. Follow all the proce- dures from step 1 to the end if you do not have a SuperController /Gaming Machine progressive jackpot system already in place. If you do have a progressive sys- tem already in place, skip to step 5 and follow from there to the completion of the procedures. L Refer to the CON2 SuperController Service and Installation manual provided with your SuperController(s). Familiarized yourself with the information in Section 3 of that document in re- gards to the SuperController model you have. Follow the installation steps in Section 4 of the abovementioned manual. Note the setting of the rotary switch as shown on page 4-19 of that docu- ment. If you are configuring a Master /Slave inter- face with two or more controllers, the rotary switch must be set as described in the documentation. If you are using other Mikohn displays (e.g., Cha- meleon II, Mini-Photon, etc.), configure the wiring and parameters for those displays as documented in Section 5 of the SuperController manual. Note that this section also documents configuration of an animation display. Instead, use the Animation Display “Fast Entry” manual for programming the AGL logic board. After wiring the SuperController, gaming devices and auxiliary displays, refer to the P.S.P. Progres- sive System Programmer manual for information on programming the SuperController. Even if you do not plan to use the system for progressive jack- Tournament Mode - PN 950-262.00 - Poge 1-5 MIKOHN Section 1 - Tournament Mode Overview pots, you must be familiar with the P.S.P. software for instructing the SuperController to perform cer- tain tasks. Using the P.SP., program any and all progressive jackpot games for your devices. Make sure to use the Timeand Date page of the program todefinethe date/time for the SuperController (see Section 11 of the P.S.P. manual), 5. Existing Mikohn Progressive Systems: Verify that the CON? software version is V4.0 or greater in all the SuperControllers to be used in the Tournament system. Chances are if you have an existing pro- gressive system, the software version is older than that required to run the Tournament Mode. Con- tact Mikohn if you require a SuperController soft- ware update. When youarerunning thecontroller(s) with version 4.x, continue with the instructions listed here. 6. Connect the AGL logic board to the Animation Display and supply power toboth units. Configure the AGL/Animation Display as outlined in the Animation Display “Fast Entry” manual. For this application, the Group Address should be set to255 and the Individual Address to 64. Set the Active Jackpot Group (if you are using a progressive system in conjunction with the Tour- nament Mode) to the value matching the jackpot group whose amount you want to display. When the Time/Date /Day parameters display, enter the correct values for those fields. 7. Refer to the system configuration represented in drawing sheet 1 (TOURSET2.SCH) at the back of this document. Assess your planned layout against this drawing. Note the cable distances for connect- ingall the components; there are differentharness/ connector scenarios depending on the distance be- tween the different elements. As noted, if the distance between the ‘SuperController(s) and the PC is less than fifty feet, refer to drawing sheet 4 (ISCABLE.SCH). If it is Page 1-4 - Toorsament Mode - PN 950-262-00 Copyright © 1995, Miloha Section 1 - Tournament Mode Overview MIKOHN greater than fifty feet, refer to drawing sheet 3 (ISCON2.SCH). If the distance between the PC and the AGL/Ani- mation Display is less than fifty feet, refer to draw- ing sheet 4 (ISCABLESCH). If it is greater than fifty feet, refer to drawing sheet 2 (ISCABSCH). 8. Asnotedondrawingsheet!, the SuperController(s) is connected to the PC at the COM2 port. The AGL logic board is connected to the computer’s COM1 port. The system printer is connected to the computer’s LPT1 port. 9. Check all the connections of the system to make sure none are loose. This completes the physical configuration of the Tournament Mode. 1.3 Software Configuration You must now install and configure the necessary PC software. When you have the system physically configured, bring up your computer and insert the diskette labeled JIS V1.06 into the floppy drive. When you begin this procedure, plan some time for com- pleting the task; the batch file will require you to enter information on the devices connected to the system as well as enter data in the JIS files. This installation cannot be halted and begun again with overwriting all the data, so plan your time accordingly. 1. When the DOS prompt “C:\>” displays, enter the drive letter designation where the JIS program diskette is located (.e., either “A:” or “B:” depend- ing on your computer system). 2. When the appropriate drive letter displays, enter the command “INSTALL” and press the Enter key. The batch file will initiate the software loading and data entry procedures. First, the batch file creates a subdirectory called “JIS” on your hard disk and copies most of the diskette'sfilesinto that destination. Next, theJIS.EXE and PCID.EXE programs are copied onto the root Copyright © 1995, Miloha Tournement Mode - PN 950-262-00 - Poge 1-5 val IKOHN ‘Section 1 - Tournement Mode Overview: directory of the hard disk. Finally, the batch file defaults to the PCID.EXE program, requiring data entry from you. 3. Refer to the Jackpot Information System manual, pp. 6 through 10, steps 4 through 17 to enter data associated with the gaming devices connected to the SuperController(s). 4. Immediately after pressing the F10 function key, the computer defaults to the JIS program with the Main Menu screen displayed as shown on page 14 of the Jackpot Information System manual. 5. With the menu choice “UTILITIES” highlighted in the menu bar, press the Enter key. You will be prompted for a password. Enter the number “135642” and press the F10 function key. 6.
