Hilde Schmidt- We believe that she should have a spot on the helicopter. Even
though shes older and she may be having several medical problems, she is support
of the 10yr old. Without her, the 10yr old would not trust anyone and could even be
hungry. When they go home, this doesnt mean that over time she cant convince
the 10yr old to start trusting someone else.
Amy Wei- Her family did not survive, shes only 10. She doesnt have anyone else
but Hilde. Were giving them a chance at a new life, and giving Amy a chance to
trust someone else. Shes been through a lot with her family passing away and its
not fair for her life to have to end too. If we have to send home Hilde, then thats
what we need to do.
Mirlande Mama Papouloute- from Haiti, she was on her way home to be with her
family. Her son who just had her young grandchild. She can still live another 20-30
years if not more. She really serves no purpose on the island anymore. However,
she doesnt deserve to not go home and stay on the island.
Butch McDougal- Dr. Jacobs was reunited with his medical equipment because of
him. Not only is he diabetic, but insulin runs low. Without having access to this, he
would die. As well as, he has a family. Even though, if he stayed on the island he
could help the others by fishing and hunting, realistically, how long can he survive
without his insulin? Thus, the reason to send him home.
Maria Nunez- Not only is she a single mother of 3, the dad is not in the kids life. She
got a new job, which pays better, she was going to share the news with her family.
The friend that is currently taking care of the children does not have the financial
miens to care for them. Marias mother is again, without Maria, those kids not only
will have nothing, but they will grow up in the foster system.
Mitch Brandeman- Not only did he grow up in gang activity, he was convicted of
murder. With no remorse, he tends to brag about this. Hes not employed and is
currently writing someone else in prison. This man deserves to not only stay on the
island but he deserves to die a slow painful death. One less murder on the planet.
Dr. Bernard Jacobs- Even though he is the only doctor currently with a cure to
cancer, this does not mean that he cant send home his medical research with the
ones going home. He has some of his medical equipment and he has a good chance
of not only helping himself survive but helping the others to survive.
Dakota Boynton- Although its heartbreaking to not send this man home when all he
has done was fight for his country. He also has a prosthetic arm, the only thing he
has at home is his boyfriend. I honestly dont think that Dakota would really care if
he went home or didnt. It seems that he wears his heart on his sleeve.
Henry Holland- He doesnt have much going for him at home. Even though he is
strong and helped put together shelter, he refused to help Mirland, Amy, and Maria
survive. Even suggesting that they should starve Amy so there could be more food

for the family. He seems like a coldhearted coward. Hes young so his fianc can
probably have plenty of time to move on.
Beauregard Winston III Esquire- Born into an already wealthy family. Hes been
unhelp in finding food for himself and others. There is really nothing for him except
his money. How do we know that his fianc is just settling, or shes with him for the
money? Sounds like a rich snob, he deserves to stay.
