the Cabinet, chaired by
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Friday.
The move, which the government said was one of its
key governance reforms,
will ensure that powers are
devolved to citizens and
their participation in governance is institutionalised.

terms of the number of
stakeholders involved, Mission Swaraj will play a vital
role for the idea of Swaraj
to succeed in Delhi, the
statement added.
As the nodal agency, Mission Swaraj will oversee the
execution of the Mohalla
Sabhas project, including
coordination between different agencies or departments of the GNCTD and
Centre, local bodies and external agencies, said a senior government oicial.
To take this mission forward, a new Governing
Council headed by Deputy
Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be formed, the oicial added.
The main objectives of
Mission Swaraj will include
carrying out mapping to define the exact constitution
of mohallas and update
them as needed to reflect
greater devolution of functions to Mohalla Sabhas.
It will also seek to define
the processes through
which Mohalla Sabhas will
fulfil their roles and responsibilities, frame administrative policies, work in
close
coordinatio with all DUDAs to oversee and manage
the roll-out of Mohalla Sabha project across Delhi.
