Company Profile

ADB, originally founded in Belgium in 1920 by Adrien De Backer, operated as a family business until 1987 when
it was acquired by the SIEMENS Group.
At that time ADB had already pioneered some of the key technologies used in stage & studio lighting, such as
digital dimmers, memory control systems, high performance optics... and was strongly established as a leading
broadline manufacturer with facilities in Belgium and France.
In December 2002, as the result of a management buy-out, Christian Lonard, todays CEO, backed up by a
group of private and institutional investors, took over control of the whole ADB-TTV Group and very rapidly
restructured and streamlined the operations. Today production and logistics are centralized in the French facility
in Saint-Quentin, whereas R&D, Product Engineering, Marketing and International Sales are still located in the
Belgian premises as before. Following these changes, the new ADB Lighting Technologies Group is now a lean
and agile operation able and eager to face new challenges.
ADBs core competence is in high performance, high quality products and services for professional applications
in stage and TV studio lighting.
From system design through equipment specifications, installation and commissioning, ADB provides customized
solutions for any kind of stage or studio lighting system, also for fully equipped Energy Vans for location lighting.
ADB operates through 3 subsidiaries in France, Belgium and Hong Kong, and a network of over 50 professionnal
distributors worldwide.

software, running on Windows.

IMAGO

Designed to be used either as backup with a LIBERTY or

a FREEDOM, or as a stand-alone playback unit, this new
compact 4U 19 housing solution will be easily integrated
in control rooms and technical rooms.

DIMMING AND POWER management

EURODIM Twin Tech

Up to date quality TV lighting uses Incandescent as well as Fluo,
Led and Discharge light sources in various CTO from warm-white to
daylight. Some need a dimmer, others direct power + data.
Whilst this mix of sources can change per production, set design or
mix of skin tones, it is necessary to have an economic and clever
power management.

DimSwitch Modules
ADBs TWINTECH solution with DimSwitch modules allows for one and only circuit distribution wherein any
circuits can be a direct solid state relay or a normal dimmer with no minimum load required.

Furthermore, this DimSwitch technology is also
available in EURORACK 60 for smaller studios or
ex-studio stages such as newsroom, flash or
press areas.

System architecture
The HATHOR system layout is strictly centralized; all output is generated by the Master and then
distributed to all connected stations, fully synchronized at any time.
Output data is distributed via Ethernet, to DMX Gateways and / or directly to DMX over Ethernet
suitable devices.
DMX over Ethernet protocols supported:
RDM, Streaming ACN, Artnet, ETC Net2, AVAB UDP, SA-Net, ShowNet, Pathport and SandNet.

Any content available on your TV, pad or smart phone, must first be seen by a camera and needs the
right light source to combine light level, coverage and CTO.

Suspension Systems

In most broadcast studios, the studio suspension system account for the major part of the lighting
system budget. ADBs expertise allows for early advise towards architects and structural engineers
in order to ensure that the buildings design includes the load capacity and structural grid design that
allows for an efficient suspension solution.
Furthermore, our engineers can include cyclorama and curtain tracks and the specific lighting
requirements.

Motorized Hoists

A choice of models for 120 kg nominal load,

with steel band pile-up with either No- Load/
Overload safety mechanism or I.S.S Intelligent
Safety System.

I.S.S, ADBs proprietary Intelligent Safety System, represents a unique, state-of-the-art approach to
suspension safety. I.S.S. first measures the initial load (the reference) automatically before starting up, then
monitors in real time any variation from the reference, and eventually stops the hoist if the variation exceeds
a set value as determined by the sensitivity level selected by the operator.

Track & Barrel System

For low ceiling studios where the use changes frequently, ADB
has engineered a simple and yet very effective Track & Barrel
system, where lighting bars are mounted on prewired trolleys
which travel across the studio along a structure of parallel
industrial tracks.
