Proverbs 4:2327 (ESV)

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it
flow the springs of life.
24Put away from you crooked speech, and put
devious talk far from you.
25Let your eyes look directly forward, and
your gaze be straight before you.
26Ponder the path of your feet; then all your
ways will be sure.
27Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil.

Put On the Breastplate of

Righteousness

As the Breastplate guards

the heart of the soldier.
So, righteousness guards
the heart of the Christs
Soldier.

Ephesians 6:1020 (ESV)

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his
might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be
able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12For we do
not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over
this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in
the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore,
having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, 15and, as shoes for your feet,
having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
16In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with
which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil
one; 17and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18praying at all times
in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

Messiahs Armor
Isaiah 59:17
17
He put on
righteousness as a
breastplate,
and a helmet of salvation
on his head;
he put on garments of
vengeance for clothing,
and wrapped himself in
zeal as a cloak.

Satan Looks For

An Opportunity
Ephesians 4:2627
26
Be angry and do not sin; do not let
the sun go down on your anger, 27and
give no opportunity to the devil.
1 Peter 5:8
8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your
adversary the devil prowls around like
a roaring lion, seeking someone to
devour.

Satan Takes Note of the

Righteous
Job 1:111
1There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and
that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and
turned away from evil. 2There were born to him seven sons
and three daughters. 3He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000
camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very
many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the
people of the east. 4His sons used to go and hold a feast in the
house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite
their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5And when the
days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and
consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and
offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For
Job said, It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed
God in their hearts. Thus Job did continually.

Satan Accuses the

Righteous
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present
themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among
them. 7The LORD said to Satan, From where have you
come? Satan answered the LORD and said, From going to
and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.
8And the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered my
servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a
blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away
from evil? 9Then Satan answered the LORD and said, Does
Job fear God for no reason? 10Have you not put a hedge
around him and his house and all that he has, on every side?
You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions
have increased in the land. 11But stretch out your hand and
touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.

Zechariah 3:15
3Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing
before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at
his right hand to accuse him. 2And the LORD said to
Satan, The LORD rebuke you, O Satan! The LORD who
has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand
plucked from the fire? 3Now Joshua was standing
before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. 4And
the angel said to those who were standing before him,
Remove the filthy garments from him. And to him he
said, Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from
you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments. 5And I
said, Let them put a clean turban on his head. So
they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him
with garments. And the angel of the LORD was
standing by.

The Accuser will be

punished
Revelation 12:10
10
And I heard a loud voice in heaven,
saying, Now the salvation and the
power and the kingdom of our God and
the authority of his Christ have come,
for the accuser of our brothers has
been thrown down, who accuses them
day and night before our God.

We can not stand against

Satan in our own
Righteousness.
Neither God nor Satan are
impressed by our self
Righteousness.

What Is Self-Righteousness
Convinced of one's own righteousness
especially in contrast with the
actions and beliefs of
others:narrow-mindedly moralistic
Not restricted to Religious People
There are self-righteous atheists
There are self-righteous vegans
Anyone that holds to a view he/she thinks
is morally superio and casts insults at
those of another view.

God isnt Impressed.

Deuteronomy 9:46
4Do not say in your heart, after the LORD your God has thrust
them out before you, It is because of my righteousness that
the LORD has brought me in to possess this land, whereas it is
because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is
driving them out before you. 5Not because of your
righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in
to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these
nations the LORD your God is driving them out from before
you, and that he may confirm the word that the LORD swore to
your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
6Know, therefore, that the LORD your God is not giving you
this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for
you are a stubborn people.

No One Is Righteous
Romans 3:920
What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we
have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are
under sin, 10as it is written: None is righteous, no, not one;
11no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12All have
turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one
does good, not even one. 13Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive. The venom of asps is
under their lips. 14Their mouth is full of curses and
bitterness. 15Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16in their
paths are ruin and misery, 17and the way of peace they have
not known. 18There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those
who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped,
and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20For
by works of the law no human being will be justified in his
sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

What Is Righteousness
Simply Defined: It is doing that which
is right.
How do we determine what is right?
Culture
Conscience
Feelings/Emotions
Logic/Reason
Religion/tradition
Gods Word: Doing what is right in Gods
eyes

Put on Christs Righteousness

Romans 13:1214
12The night is far gone; the day is
at hand. So then let us cast off
the works of darkness and put on
the armor of light. 13Let us walk
properly as in the daytime, not in
orgies and drunkenness, not in
sexual immorality and sensuality,
not in quarreling and jealousy.
14But put on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and make no provision for
the flesh, to gratify its desires.

We are righteous
because of Christ
Romans 8:14
8There is therefore now no condemnation for
those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the
Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from
the law of sin and death. 3For God has done
what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not
do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of
sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the
flesh, 4in order that the righteous requirement
of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not
according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Boast in His
Righteousness
1 Corinthians 1:2731
27But God chose what is foolish in the world to
shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the
world to shame the strong; 28God chose what is low
and despised in the world, even things that are not,
to bring to nothing things that are, 29so that no
human being might boast in the presence of God.
30And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who
became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and
sanctification and redemption, 31so that, as it is
written, Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.

Put On Christs
Righteousness
Ephesians 4:2224
22
to put off your old self, which
belongs to your former manner of life
and is corrupt through deceitful
desires, 23and to be renewed in the
spirit of your minds, 24and to put on
the new self, created after the likeness
of God in true righteousness and
holiness.

Put On Christ
Colossians 3:410
4When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will
appear with him in glory. 5Put to death therefore what is
earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil
desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6On account
of these the wrath of God is coming. 7In these you too
once walked, when you were living in them. 8But now
you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice,
slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9Do not lie
to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self
with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which
is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its
creator.

When Satan Accuses

Satan will accuse you of
the sins youve
committed.
Youre a looser
Youre a sinner
Youre a bad parent
Youre a bad spouse
How can God love you

Our Advocate
1 John 1:72:1
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his
Son cleanses us from all sin. 8If we say we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we
say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his
word is not in us.
2My little children, I am writing these things to you so
that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

and the blood of

Jesus his Son
cleanses us from
all sin.
