Types of PurchasesOrder on TelephoneHere in this organization the order first is
placed on phone & afterwards all legal documents are sent. Legal documents named
purchase order sheet, quality maintenance etc are to be sent. Mostly order is
placed on telephone which enables company personnel to work faster as the moment

they receive the order can place the order for raw materials required to produce
that much stock if necessary. Even company personnel place order for the raw
material on telephone. Sometimes this reduces paper work.Storage method Basically
there are four steps of storage method:-Identification Method
Where in the
raw materials & they have their a lot number allotted according to type of
material. They follow symbolic approach for identifying materials. They
whether it is cotton fabric, satin, burnout etc. accordingly they number incoming
materials & it helps them to understand in better way, while they are in a need.
Receiving Method
They receive the items from outside suppliers. It starts
from placement of order by the purchase department. This helps to plan the receipt
&unloading activities for stores. On receiving material purchase department ensures
the quality & conditions of goods &prepares good receipt report further inspection
department prepares acceptance or rejection.Storage Method
They follow
open store system. As orders come in bulk they need to follow open store system for
taking out the inventory. Here risk is high as materials are of export quality.
They emphasis more on production rather than security. It is stored as close to the
point of use as is physically possible. Worker has direct access to storage place
no authorization document is needed. Issuing MethodThis is the last system in the
stores system. Here issuing is done directly to buyers. Any material requirement
over & above indicated in the work order quantity means excessive wastage &
scrapping. Stores personnel are not authorized to issue beyond the work order
quantity. Multiple copies of the work order or material request note are prepared
by the foreman or concerned manager which are forwarded by the storekeeper to
material accounts division. Their customers are wal-mart Canada Cort, Hobson bay
company, zeller, JC Penny,
Springhill textile AB, new home etc.And in local as
in India mafatlal, Bombay dyeing. They forward their ready stock via exports
through containers.Stock Verification
Generally every Friday stock is verified
because of power cut. In the absence of power workers cannot work with machines so
every Friday stock is verified manually. They dont have any machine to calculate
ready stocks. After calculation they cross check the digits with their system
figure (counts) . If any manipulation or faults are seen they are immediately
solved.Standardization (With a view of quality) They never compromise with the
quality of the product because it is question of their brand. No company will
afford to spoil their goodwill in the market because of quality. Even this is true
many big organizations do suffer from spoiling their goodwill but afterwards they
have to rectify it to stay in the market. Here they are using cotton fabric bale,
satin fabric bale, polyester, acrylic cotted, brassco (burn out) , threads they have
to maintain the quality in order to attract as well as be competitive in the
market. There should be win-win condition between buyer & seller in such type of
industry.CodificationCodification means codes which are to be understood mostly by
seller & in a lesser proportion to buyer. But here it is different the tags, sques
which are haned with the finished stock/Merchandise are to be done according to the
need of buyer as they directly supply to the industries. Waste managementThe waste
is unwanted but unavoidable resulting in any organization. It gets generated from
all types of resources. As in Human Resource, Materials etc. While making finished
product from raw material there can be damage in cloth, can be due to damage in
machines, stain, teared off etc. but a good organization will use that waste into
consideration, will use it & make something out of it. They make BEST OUT OF
WASTE, such as shown in picture the cloth has got stain & we asked them about that
& in reply we got theyll use it in making for cushion cover/ panels/ curtains.
