Learning Activity 2

Bulletin Board Display


Goal
At the end of the activity, you will be competent in appraising the effectiveness of
display boards as learning resources.

Tasks
Display board or commonly known as bulletin board is one of the most readily
available and versatile learning resource. To reach your goal, do the following:
Look around the school for a bulletin board;
Choose one then describe and evaluate the display, and;
Propose enhancement to the display to make it more effective.

Tools
An Observation Guide for BOARD DISPLAYS
Go around the school and examine the board displays. How many board displays do
you see?
Where are the display boards found? Are they in places where target viewers can
see them?
What are the displays about? What images and colors do you see? How are the
pieces of information arranged?
What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?
Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar inconsistencies, etc.)
Are the messages clear and easily understood?
Take some photos of the display board. (if allowed)
As you look around and examine board displays, use the activity form provided to
document your observations.

Take note of the following details and write them in your observation report.

2. Location of Bulletin Board Displays:
BB1: In the front of the Audio Visual Room
BB2: Facade of the Mapeh Department room
BB3: Near the gate inside the school

2. Describe each BBD in terms of the following:


a. the message(s) it provides.
BB1: In the front of the Audio Visual Room, it contains moments happened in the Audio Visual Room
like when teachers mentoring out of the school youth, Division training for untrained teachers for K to
12, Faculty meeting preparation for June, 13 2016, Junior-Senior Highschool Orientation, Meeting with
the MPTA, and Recognition 2016. There is no specific message here because it only depicts on what
are happened and going to happen in this area.
BB2: Facade of the Mapeh Department room, it contains different organization and activities in the
school that under in the Mapeh department and it contains different officials in the different
organization. It encouraging students to be one of the active leaders in the school and be a leader in
different activities in the mapeh club.
BB3: Near the gate inside the school, it contains details about K to 12 Senior High and updates about
this program. It encourages enrollees to choose the ACSCHS because of the things that is good to be
study in the school.
b. images and colors.

BB1: the immages are too small but it is visible when I look at it nearly and the colors used in the
bulletin board are most in yellow and green but it also have corresponding colors like
white,orange,red,blue and violet that is attractive when you look on it.
BB2: very colorful colors with a little bit dark with the background that stands as effect and the images
are good and it contains rainbow colors.
BB3: the background color is brown with a simple design of immages that stands for simplicity.

c. arrangement of information/messages
BB1: they are collaged by their respective event and they are not hard to analyze by the students.
BB2: it starts from games, then organizations and achievements and then lastly the activities.
BB3: the arrangement of the information given in this bulletin board is from broad idea to different
parts.

4. Materials used in the display


BB1: mostly made in cartoline, art papers and a pictures and a piece of basket.
BB2: mostly made in art papers, cartoline, pictures and some logo and printed materials.
BB3: simply made by cartoline and artistic transperancy of the background color of the pictures.
5. Errors noticed (if any)
BB1: As I noticed there is no error because the students made this bulletin board are guided by their
teachers.
BB2: There is no errors so far...
BB3: No errors.

6. Boarders (if any)


BB1: No boarder (ready made boarder)
BB2: No boarder (ready made boarder)
BB3: wave form and very colorful.
7. Clarity of message
BB1: There is no specific message here the things are just posted are those moments happened
inside the Audio Visual Room that literate new visitors to know what is this room all about.
BB2: In majority the messages posted here are the activities, games and events that Mapeh club
implementing and different organization in this club.
BB3: Encouraging new students to choose Angeles City Special Science High School when enrolling
in Junior and Senior High.
