Last week we worked with One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garca Marquez. We examined how magical realism is built through language, tone, and usage. This week we will widen our scope to include other Latin American writers. We will expand our knowledge of Latin American history and heritage as well as widen our scope to include the work of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Additionally, we will begin a conversation on solitude what it means, who defines it, and how to identify it and its relationship with a sense of home.
