IfyoucurrentlyusetheAppleMailprogramandwouldliketoconfigureitforusewithyourGoogleAppsatUSC

UndertheMailmenu,selectPreferences.TheAccountswindowwillappear.

1. UnderAccounts,onthelefthandside,youwillseealistofallofyourexistingemailaccountswithinApple
Mail.Toeditthesettingsofanexistingaccount,highlighttheaccountnameinthelisttoseethecurrent
accountsettingsontherightpanel.Tocreateanewaccount,clickthe+buttonbelowtheAccountsfield.

2. IntheAccountTypedropdownmenu,selectIMAP.
3. IntheDescriptionfield,typeanamefortheaccount.Thisnamewillbeusedtodistinguishthisaccountfrom
otherswithinAppleMail.

4. IntheEmailAddressfield,enteryourUSCemailaddress.
5. IntheFullNamefield,typeinyourname.Recipientsofmessagesfromthisaccountwillseethenameasthe
messagesender.

6. IntheIncomingMailServerfield,enterimap.gmail.com.
7. IntheUsernamefield,enteryourfullUSCemailaddress.Forexample,ifyouremailaddresswere
ttrojan@usc.edu,thenyourusernamewouldbettrojan@usc.edu.

8. ThePasswordfieldcanbeleftblank.Ifapasswordisnotenteredandsaved,youwillbelaterpromptedto

ServerOptionswindow.
