the state of Zimbabwe, Africa, and also to gain more experience and in-depth skills when
working with children of all ages as well as from different backgrounds of education levels.

students on their homework. Engage them in fun skill building activities.

Work with summer camp teachers in educating children about conservation and the
environment. Help with running daily activities and projects. Take children on walks around
specific locations of the Biopark and educate them in the animals and botany seen as well

as ways to practice conservation efforts at home. Student volunteer work involved working
with the education specialist at the Zoo in desk work (e.g. printing flyers, organization,
speaking to visitors about new/current exhibits) or aiding camp teachers when needed.

As a student volunteer at the Biopark I had to give information and answer questions on
topics related to current environment issues, animals, and botany at the ABQ Biopark. At
The Chill Zone I have to effectively greet customers and engage in friendly conversation
while assisting the customers with any questions they might have. With Campfire USA I had
to effectively communicate with children of ages 5years-11years. While also discussing
childrens behavior and anything of interest to parents. Also, at Campfire USA I had to
effectively communicate ideas and learning points to children with disabilities (e.g. autism,
dyslexia, and Aspergers disease) while maintaining communication with the parents of the
childs mental and emotional state each day
