Learning outcomes for this program are to:

Report on Dementia Capable Wisconsin and the implications of this initiative.


Discover current resources available for health care professionals.
Review pharmacologic treatment options, treatment risks, benefits and adverse event management.
Discuss the diagnosis and management of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).
Discover how to discuss and implement driving cessation for people with Alzheimers disease and
related dementias.

Target audience:

Advanced training for health professionals (nurses, APRNs, physicians/physician assistants, social
workers, and other health care providers) who have an understanding of the basics of dementia care.
Any health care professional interested in the care of those with dementia.

Accreditation and Contact Hours:

Waukesha County Technical College is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the
Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers
Commission on Accreditation.
Participation awards will be provided to all conference participants who attend the entire program.
This program is being offered for 5.75 contact hours.
