Narrative Essay of GROUP 2
With the presentation that group 1 prepared, we as their classmate appreciate their
efforts as they did good job with their discussion. Even they dont have much time and
had to do a lot of work preparing for it, they still give their best just to make sure that it
will be worth it. For them to make a presentation on a topic they must have an interest
and a great knowledge of the topic. As they do their reporting, it helps them to improve
their skills on how to present themselves in front of the class and to share their
knowledge with their co-students. They divide their topic within their group so that it will
easy for them to know their own task and what the things they can help with their group
mates.
The first topic that they discussed is the quality cost which is about a means to quantify
the total cost of quality-related efforts and deficiencies. TQM is rooted in the belief that
preventing defects is cheaper than dealing with the costs of quality failures. In other
words, total quality costs are minimized when managers strive to reach zero defects in
the organization. We learned about the graph of PAF model which includes of
prevention cost, appraisal cost and failure cost within internal and external and how it
will be implemented within the organization, how it works and how the organization used
this model.

The second topic is leadership. We learned what its role in the total quality management
and its importance like Peter Drucker said that management is doing things right while
leadership is doing the right things. A leader strengthens and inspires the followers to
accomplish shared goals. Senior leaders should serve as role models through their
ethical behaviour and their personal involvement in planning communications, coaching,
development of future leaders, review of organizational performance, and employee
recognition. As role models, they can reinforce values and expectations while building
leadership, commitment, and initiative throughout organization. They also discussed
about Demings 14 Points for Top Management and our teacher give us activities on
what we learned from it.
The third topic is about TQM implementation. The most important requirement for TQM
to function in any organization is 100 per cent commitment by the top management.
There is no way to push TQM if the top management is not convinced, committed or
determined to implement it.
The reporter of the first group discussed their topic all about in Quality Cost, Leadership
and TQM Implementation. As members of group 2, were really appreciate on how the
first group discussed they report. They present in the class with visual aids. They
provide power presentation that helped us to cope up more with the discussion. They
properly delivered and they explained well their own topic. And also, they did their best
just for us to understand the topic that theyre discussing. Even though its not that
detailed enough but through the help of our teacher, Mr. Michael Balanay guides them
and it made the discussion more easily to learn.
