Career Situation/Problem to Analyze: The department is running low
on funds, but there is not enough equipment for each student to
have his/her own piece of equipment during classes.

very talented and qualified staff
that has the ability to do the
same. I have several strategies
and lesson plan ideas that can
keep classes organized even
with a lack of equipment. We
have gymnasiums large enough
to hold large groups, in which
students can share equipment.

We have a lack of equipment, due to

a lack of funds for the department.

of classes; sharing equipment/
facilities, and make sure that the
equipment is well maintained.

Our organization is said to be well

organized and professional. A
situation such as this offers an
opportunity to obtain sponsorships
form local sporting goods stores, or
even share equipment/facilities with

Other school districts seem to have

a greater amount of funding and
available equipment. Consumers
fitness habits have changed in the
sense that we live in a sedentary
society. There is now slightly less of

other schools. We can pursue a

larger allocation of funds for the
physical education department, and
seek funding from local businesses.

In order to combat this problem, our district will somehow

have to increase the amount of funding for equipment for the
physical education department. In, the meantime, we will have to
use all available resources. Students will be able to form groups
and share equipment. This allows every student to use the
equipment, and also provides opportunity for social growth
among the students.
Being that other organizations view our department as
organized and professional, we can begin to seek funding from
these organizations. A sponsorship form a local sporting goods
store will give us the opportunity to implement more equipment.
We can also pursue legislation to allow more funds to allocate to
physical education departments within the district. This problem
also opens up opportunities to work together with local
businesses.
We can decrease our weakness by improve planning in our
classes. Even with a lack of equipment, a well-planned lesson can
still be very organized and effective. We will hold meeting and
conferences for our physical education teachers to give them
strategies when teaching with limited equipment.
Our threats can be reduced by better allocating the funds
that are available, so that nothing goes to waste. We cannot
change the price of equipment, but we can improve the way it is
treated and stored. This will allow the equipment to be used for
longer, and by more students. We can improve class management
in order to offer effective learning, even with limited equipment.
