Company: PAK HY-OILS LIMITED, Karachi. Formerly National Petro -
Carbon (NPC) was a unit of PERAC Ministry of Production Privatized in
1995 and become a part of Orion Group of industries. PAK HY-OILS
LIMITED is a manufacturer of Lubricating Oils, Transformer Oil, Water
Proofing Membrane, Asphalt Specialty products and having a
Re-refining capacity of Waste Oil through SHORT PATH WIPED THIN
FILM MOLECULAR DISTILLATION TECHNOLOGY.

Manager Operations (Waste Oil Re-refining Unit) (Since May


2007- Present) Duties & Responsibilities

To manage production activities in safe and efficient manner with


maximum yield structure, minimum man power and minimum energy
consumption.

Developing sound processing parameters including unit monitoring


conditions, optimization of operation parameters

To keep himself up to date in the field of existing and allied products


areas. Keep on track of modern trends and innovations in this field.

Carries out all technical studies concerned with plant operations.

Review all operations, processing conditions, productions methods and


processes and make recommendations for optimizing the production
and brining about changes and modifications required to improve
products.

Coordinate in the development of production and capital expenditure


budgets.

Establish and administer quality control practices and procedures


which are designed to build quality into the products.

Ensure the administration of personnel policies and practices as


required such as performance appraisals, training, and counseling for
the plant side.

To devise the master production schedule.

To coordinate with marketing and purchase department to ensure


minimum level of inventory of finished products and raw materials

Short Path Wiped Thin Film Molecular Distillation Unit. Pakistan First
Waste Oil Re-Refining Plant the Unit Commenced Operation from May
2007.

Commission a Plant through a "systemized" approach with the


combination of new and existing assets and technical problem solving
within the constraints of an operational environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

In charge for all functions performed by the team (design, simulation


related to plant system, specification of equipment & piping,
development of Process Flow Diagrams and piping and instrumentation
diagrams.

Responsible for initial startup and testing of new installations including


distillation columns, oil heater, rotary vacuum vane pumps. Roots
blower, watering vacuum pumps, centrifuge and filter press.

Responsible for the execution of all commissioning activities,


systemization, planning, pre-commissioning, loop checking, leak
testing, introduction of chemicals.

Creation of all commissioning documentation and check sheets for


assigned systems to the company standard procedure.

Participate in all coordination, scheduling, safety and progress review


meetings.

Ensure all instrument and electrical tests and check-out are completed
per commissioning system.

Ensure checkout of new control systems, interlocks and shutdown


systems.

Up-date all assigned commissioning documentation post start-up.

Process Engineer
(April 2004 – May 2006)
(Lubricants blending and Transformer Oil Dehydration and
Degassing)

Ensure smooth blending and filling operations to achieve production


targets and achieve proper co-ordination between blending and filling
line.

Utilize available manpower effectively and efficiently.


Reviews on operating problems, which was reported by shift incharges
and make recommendations and certifies the satisfactory completion
of all repairs.

Inspect regularly and eliminate unsafe and hazardous conditions to


ensure proper operations.

Monitoring required process parameters to produce products of the


desired specifications.

Inspect and control raw material supply and base oil level in storage
tanks.

Prepare DIB, material balances, dip statements and daily stock


positions.

To keep the production manager appraised of all the day to day


activities in and around the plant.
