Tip 1 : H ow t o u se t h e pa t t e r n s
I provide t wo t ypes of pat t ern. One is original size and t he ot her is including t he seam . I t is not easy t o draw t he
curved pat t ern. So I provide it . As in m y experience, when I bought t he pat t erns at WalMart , it was like lit t le
unrealist ic. Those pat t erns are print ed on very t hin t ear- able paper. And I had no idea how t o draw t he curved part
seam exact ly. I s it j ust m e or I s it sam e wit h everyone?
So I want t o give t he bot h pat t erns. And I will t ell you how t o use it .
1. Bring t he box of Kelloggs Frost ed Flakes. I f you are hungry now, you can eat first . And please at t ach t he
pat t erns on t he box.
2. Cut it as t he pat t erns.
3. Put t he Pat t ern B on t he t op & lining. And draw it .
4. Put t he Pat t ern A on t he inside of t he Pat t ern B.
5. Put t he Pat t ern A on t he fusible bat t ing.
Usually when I m ake t he sm all it em , for exam ple m et al coin case, I m ake t he pat t ern like t his.
See Pict ures 1- 3

Pict ure 3

Pict ure 2

Tip 2 : H ow t o u se t he Zip Lock s

Put t he right side in one sandwich bag, and t he left side anot her bag. ( I recom m end t he zip lock bag, but it s
lit t le expensive so you m ay use sandwich bags) I f you dont do t his, you will be very confused when you
sew. See Pict ures 4- 5

Pict ure 4

Pict ure 5

Tip 3 : m a k in g linin g
I f you want t o use t hese shoes as bot h sides, t op fabric and lining size will be t he sam e. But in t his case, lining will
be not neat . I f bot h lining and t he t op is t he sam e size, aft er you flip it , it will be crum pled. I f you dont like t his,
you can cut t he bat t ing lit t le m ore inside from original size. And sew t he lining lit t le bit sm aller t han t he original
size. I f you iron t he bat t ing at t he t op fabric, you should shrink it by 95% for lining. See Pict ure 6.

Tip 4 : qu ilt in g
I f you want t o use norm al bat t ing ( not fusible) . Cut t he fabric ext ra big, quilt , and t hen cut as t he pat t ern. Aft er
quilt ing, size will be always shrinking.

Tip 5 : Usin g fu sible w e b

When you iron t he fusible web on t he t op fabric, iron it carefully on t he right side. I f you iron it on t he wrong side,
it will be at t ached at t he iron board. How do I know it ? I did it .

Tip 6 : Pla st ic Ba g
Aft er t urning it inside and out , pu t t he plast ic bag inside. Since it s crum pled aft er you flip it over, but in a plast ic
bag, t hen it will look neat . See pict ure 7.

Pict ure 6

Pict ure 7

Tip 7 : H ow t o u se t he spoon
Aft er flipping it , usually shoes does not look good. I t has a wrinkle. But t his is t oo sm all t o iron it , so put t he
spoon int o t he shoes, and iron it . See pict ure 8- 9.

Tip 8 : To At t a ch t h e t a g
At t he end of t he t ag or ribbon, t hread will be loose. So t o prevent t hat , glue t he end of t he t ag ( using t he
st ick glue) , put it on t he iron. See pict ures 10- 11.

Pict ure 8

Pict ure 9

Pict ure 10

Pict ure 11

Tip 9 : Sn a p or H ook a n d loop fa st e n e r

I nst ead of t he elast ic t ape, you m ay use snap or hook- and- loop fast eners

Tip 1 0 : Tr e a su r e H u n t in g
When I m ade t he flower, I used t he beads from m y daught ers unused t oy. So if you open your eye as big as
you can, you will find som et hing. I f you do, m aybe t rash will be t reasures. Som et im es, I used t he t ags from
m y kids pant s and skirt s t hat t hey dont wear any m ore. Sm all beads, but t ons, t ags, lace, zipper et c.
