UCC SUMMER HOURS

The University Catholic Center will be
closed May 19-23, and Monday, May 26 in honor
of Memorial Day.
No daily masses will be celebrated at the UCC on
these days.
Daily Masses are scheduled at St. Austin Church
at 8 am and 5:20 pm Monday through Friday.

Sixteen 2nd graders celebrated the sacrament of First Holy
Communion last Sunday, May 11. It was a very joyous occa-

were received into the full communion of the Catholic Church
at last Sunday's 8:00 p.m. Mass. Andrea "Elizabeth" Chipin-

their Confirmation and First reception of the Eucharist after
journeying through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
(RCIA) process here at the UCC. Our prayers and congratu-

University Graduate Students & Professionals-
UGAP is a group of post-college age people who
share and live the love of Christ in community
through worship, faith formation, social service, spiritual de-
velopment and fellowship. We meet on Tuesdays at 7 pm in
the Mother Teresa Room.

The Inexpressible Mystery
The God of the universe is mysterious. Science has not
been able to solve the mystery of how the universe came
into being or explain exactly what continues to give it crea-
tive energy and masterful design. No religion asserts that it
has found words to name fully the ineffable mystery of
God, for no matter what name we use, God always tran-
scends our limited ability to understand. God is a mystery
to be believed, not known. And yet, we Christians believe
that our name for God best expresses that inexpressible
mystery: God is the Most Holy Trinity of three persons
united in a communion of love, pouring forth that creative,
saving, sanctifying love into the world. Today’s scriptures
celebrate the mystery of the Trinity and give us clues for

Micah 6 Food Pantry
UCC participates in the ecumenical Micah 6 food
pantry. We donate food at Mass and UCC mem-
bers volunteer at the pantry on Thursday evenings
and Saturday mornings. Many of the people we serve are
homeless. Please don’t forget our “neighbors” who have
nothing during the summer months. Please continue to bring
canned goods and packaged dry goods to Sunday Mass, for
the baskets near the fountain. Please continue to support the
Micah 6 Food Pantry with your generous donations. Thanks
to all for your help.
