IE 3: INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING

st
Comprehensive Exam Pointers for Review (1 Sem, 2015-2016)
The goal of the Comprehensive Exam is to assess if the student has learned the general framework of system analysis.
The assessment of how the student can apply this framework to real-life problems is in the quizzes, activities, and
minor project.
The first part of the Comprehensive Exam is Identification. It will basically test if the student knows the terms that
surround the general framework. Actually if the student has taken the lessons by heart, he/she does not need to spend
time in memorizing. The second part of the Comprehensive Exam is Problem Solving. It will test if the student knows
the basic technical concepts that Industrial Engineers apply in solving classic problems.
But of course, it would not hurt to take the extra time and reread the lectures. It might be value-adding for you if you
take a second look on the lessons.
Before taking the Comprehensive Exam, you must ensure the following objectives are met.
FOR PART 1: IDENTIFICATION, YOU MUST
1.

IE 3 Meeting 2: Introduction to Industrial Engineering
