FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2017


If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy
Communion in May 2017, you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion
programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2017 and will
be held at St Andrews on Saturday mornings. The first enrolment date will be on
Wednesday, 12th October between 3.30pm and 5.00pm, the second date will be
Thursday, 20th October between 7.00pm and 8.00pm. They will both be held in the
Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an
enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. If your child was
Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the childs
Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where
your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.

FOODBANK Letter received Thank you for your donation, which we received on

21 September. It weighed 10.1 kgs which is equivalent to about 11 individual meals Please
thank all your members and friends whose gifts made up this donation. We greatly appreciate
their generosity and continued support. Our stocks of foods are in a much better balance now
and we
no longer worry that some products will be past their Use by date before we can
distribute them to people in need.. THANK YOU for giving particular attention to those items on
our wish list, which for OCTOBER is Long Life Milk, Pasta Sauce, Rice (500g or 1kg), Tinned
Spaghetti, Sponge Puddings, Instant Mash Potato, Washing up Liquid, Tin Openers, Shampoo,
Baby Wipes, Carrier Bags.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL meet at 2.00pm on Tuesday, 11th October in the Sacristy at Our Lady of
Peace. New members would be welcome. If you know of anyone who would like a visit from the

CHRISTMAS CARDS Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas Cards after the 6.00pm Vigil
Mass on Saturday, 15th October and 9.45am Mass on Sunday, 16th October at Our Lady of
Peace, and at St Andrews after 11.30am Mass on Sunday, 23rd October. Proceeds towards St
Gilberts Mission project.
HOLY FAMILY CHURCH are holding a Special Mass on Sunday, 16th October at 3.00pm, for
people with disabilities their family and friends. All are welcome.
POP GOES THE CHOIR returns on Saturday, 22nd October at 7.00pm at St Andrew's. Tickets
on sale at 5. A really enjoyable musical treat awaits you. With the kind permission of
Minister Robin Scott, we may use the Baptist Church carpark for excess parking on the
evening, this is located opposite St Andrew's in Elmshott Lane.
NORTHAMPTON CATHEDRAL MASS celebrating Women, Mothers and Families in this Year
of Mercy. Saturday, 29th October at 12 noon. Celebrant Bishop Peter. Everyone welcome.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL AND THE CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE invite you to a celebration
of Mass with the sacramental anointing of the sick at St Andrews on Saturday, 26th November at
2.00pm. This will be followed by a tea party. Transport can be arranged, if required please

LUX is a residential for young Catholics aged 11-18 years of age (secondary school). Twice a
year 100 young people gather together to celebrate our faith by meeting new friends, learning
new stuff and praising God. All this, and having the most unforgettable weekend of their life! The
Lux weekend costs 85 per person, and some bursary places are available. They gather at the
Kings Park Conference Centre in Northampton, and the next weekend is on 3rd 5th February
2017. This years theme is Mirth, we are called to be happy and rejoice! For more information
