Skill Development content - Include Critical Elements, Teaching Cues, and Common Errors you
will likely need to address:
Teachers will demonstrate the skills of Kicking, Catching, and Base Running prior to all
independent student practices.
o For Example: Kicking- ball will be placed near instructor, pictures of athletes to
increase memory of keywords and teaching cues will accompany demonstration of
the following teaching cues:
1. Maintain eye contact with the ball at all times as the ball approaches your
space.
2. Once the ball is in close distance enough to make contact with your foot,
continue to maintain eye contact with head down and do the following:
a. Take one step with a lead foot.
b. Both arms out in a T-formation for improved balance and posture.
c. Kick ball with trail leg with the in-seam of foot and toes pointed down
and leg fully extended in up-ward motion.
(Corrective): Good job kicking with the in-seam of your foot; lets try the T-form to
improve your balance and increase the chances of a more effective kick.
Closure/Lesson Summary:

kickball?
