WORK EXPERIENCE:
Total 7.11 years of work experience in legal domains of Litigation, Statutory Compliances under Environmental Laws,
Labour & Factories Laws, Corporate Laws and other Laws applicable to the Company.
CURRENT ORGANIZATION: Since October, 2008 working as Senior Assistant in Legal Department at M/s. Shriram
Pistons & Rings Ltd., Meerut Road Industrial Area, Ghaziabad.
ORGANIZATION PROFILE: Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. is the leading manufacturers of Auto Components i.e.
and
brand Pistons, Pins, Piston Rings and Engine Valves in the country and supplying its products to over 100
Original Equipment Manufacturers of vehicles in the country e.g. Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindras, Ashok Leyland,
Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, Honda Car etc. The Company also exports its products to international customers like Ford,
Renault, Iveco, Honda, Wabco, Kia Motors and is No. 1exporter of Pistons & Piston Rings in the country.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRAs):
Statutory Compliance Monitoring: To monitor & ensure all statutory compliances effectively under Environmental
Laws, Labour & Factories Laws and other related Laws applicable to the Company.
Renewal & obtaining of Water Consent, Air Consent, Hazardous Waste Authorization, Bio-medical Waste Authorization,
Factory Licences, Petroleum Licences, Gas Storage Licences, Registration for Contract Labour, etc.
Filing of Statutory Returns i.e. Half Yearly/Yearly Factory Returns, Bonus Return, Annual Maternity Return, Payment of
Wages Return, Minimum Wages Return, Contract Labour Return, Water Cess Return, Quarterly/Annual Return of
Hazardous & other wastes, Environment Statement in Form-V, Batteries Return, Progress Report under Air Water
Consents conditions, Annual Return under Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, etc.
To ensure keep a record of Statutory Returns and licences/authorizations/approvals etc.
To prepare a Check chart for the legal compliances to be made and to update the same from time to time as per
various provisions of the law applicable on the factory.
To give information to the concerned departments/plants as to what compliances have to be made by them from time to
time through written and oral communication.
To take information from the concerned departments/plants through written/oral communication and also through
personal visits to the respective department/plant and physically seeing and verifying the compliance documents.
To note down the information received from various departments/plants with regard to the compliances made by them
and submit the same for information to the management on monthly basis.
To submit certificate of compliances of the various laws including the compliance of the provisions, non-compliance of
which is punishable with imprisonment or penalty, to the management on quarterly basis.
To update the compliance status in the CMS Compliance Software, monitored by the Head Office/Management.
To update periodically Register of Rules (ROR) with regard to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
To update with regard to amendments in existing laws or passing of any new Law, Rules & Regulations, software of
Manupatra which is a Legal Database Software has been subscribed which gives latest updates in the form of desktop
alerts on computer system. In addition thereto the updates are also taken through newspapers, internet, local & other
sources.

Litigation & Arbitration: To strongly defend and pursue Labour, Civil & Criminal cases and other cases filed
by or against the company. To file new cases and to pursue them in courts of law. By regularly attending the cases
along with advocates on the date of hearing and regular follow up with advocates. Preparation and timely filling of
replies and evidence in the cases. Looking for favorable reported cases and using them for winning the cases. . A
proper record is being maintained in respect of date of hearing in the cases. Filing cases along with required

documentation, serving summons on the other party and updating the management with their status, etc., cost cutting
is a major component of litigation management.

Agreements: Preparation, review & drafting of various agreements /contracts as may be required to be
entered by the company with different contractors/vendors/suppliers from time to time and other miscellaneous
activities as like various approvals to Government Authorities and take all necessary steps from time to time for
execute.

Recovery Matters: Matters include handling various civil as well as criminal cases of recovery from various customers,
vendors and Ex-employees. Through telephonic/ personal discussions, given notices through Email and Post, to save
the litigation cost before giving Legal Notice through Advocate and filing cases against them in the competent courts.
Insurance: To ensure all initial compliances in the event of claim on Insurance of Plant & Machinery and Building. To
provide whole documents required in the event of a claim along with claim form duly filled, signed and stamped.
SPECIAL PROJECT:
Remediation of Underground Water Contamination Project, Lohia Nagar, Ghaziabad:
To monitor Statutory Compliances for smooth functioning of Remediation of underground water Contamination Project.
To ensure compliance of the Bank Guarantee Conditions given by U.P. Pollution Control Board, Lucknow.
Handling miscellaneous correspondences with UPPCB, Lucknow & Local District Administration.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
Got the Pollution Case filed by Mr. Rajiv Narayan decided in favour of the Company.
Got the Air & Water Consents for 2 years i.e. 2014-15 for the first time in 2014.
Successfully and strategically assist the crisis when the factory was sealed by U.P. Pollution Control Board, Lucknow.
Prepared documentation for filed Writ Petition before the High Court and secured favourable order to force UPPCB to
open the factory within a week.
A criminal complaint was filed at local Police Station, on the basis of FIR under section 420 I.P.C. was lodged against
supplier. Cognizance was taken by the court in the matter and case was registered. Since supplier did not appear
before the court, non-bailable warrants were issued against him. However, we faced difficulty in getting served
warrants because supplier had changed his address. The new address of supplier was got traced from Internet and
other sources and fresh NBWs were got issued from the court at his fresh address and with the help of police officials,
supplier was got arrested from his fresh address.
OTHER SKILLS:

Team Work: Always displayed team spirit and sincerity towards work and incorporated good suggestions given by
peers and elders in work as well as in other areas of life.

Documentation: To identify and to list the Legal Database Resource Pool at one place. The purpose is to make Legal
Database self sufficient in terms of legal reference Books, Journals, Office Orders, Sanctions, Circulars, Notifications,
Legal Opinions, Judgments/Orders, Original Licenses & Consents, News Papers cutting, & Photographs Album etc.

Updating Self Knowledge: By reading books, newspapers, notifications, circulars, and judgments on Manupatra
Legal Research Database, searching Internet etc.
