1. HUMAN BEINGS.
a. Characteristics. We can think, because
we have got a brain.
We can talk, we use language to express
ourselves.
b. The same but different.
The human body is symmetrical. It has two
similar halves.
We are different because of our:
- Physique: tall, short
- Individual features: dark-skinned
- Sexual characteristics.
c. The parts of the human body. (See
Nereas video on the blog)
- Head: skull and face.
- Torso: Thorax and
abdomen.
- Upper Limbs: arm,
forearm and hand.
- Lower limbs: thigh,
lower leg and foot.
2. WE ARE LIVING
THINGS.
We are born, eat, we grow, we interact, we
reproduce and we die.
Three Life processes.
i. Reproduction. We produce
offspring. Children normally look
like their parents.
ii. Nutrition. We need to eat. Food
gives us energy.
iii. Interaction. We respond to what is
happening around us.
THE STAGES OF LIFE.
b. Childhood.
0-11 years
During these years we
grow very quickly, we
learn to walk
Extremidades superiores:
brazo, antebrazo y mano.
Extremidades inferiores:
muslo, parte baja de la
pierna y pie.
Infancia: de 0 a 11 aos.
Aqu estamos nosotros.
Durante estos aos
crecemos muy rpido.
c. Adolescence.
11-18 years.
Los seres humanos:
d. Young adulthood.
We continue to grow up to
the age of 18 in women
and 20 in men.
f. Old age.
Our physical and mental
strength declines.
3. THE MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM:
It is made of BONES, MUSCLES and
JOINTS.
BONES. Are the hardest
part of the body.
The human skeleton
protects our organs.
An adult human has 206
bones.
Types of bones.
- Long bones: In arms
and legs.
- Short bones: in spinal
column.
- Flat bones: in skull or shouder.
The spinal column is made up of 33
vertebrae.
The rib cage protects the heart and the
lungs.
Adolescencia: de 11 a 18
aos. Es una etapa de
muchos cambios fsicos,
Nuestro cuerpo de
desarrolla y aparecen
caractersticas sexuales, a
las chicas les crece pecho
y a los hombres les sale
MUSCLES.
JOINTS.
Joints connect bones together.
Types of joints
- Flexible joints:
Joints in arms and
legs.
- Semi-flexible
joints: in spinal
column.
- Fixed joints: In Skull.
