d Inspection Report

to 11/04/2016
Methodology
Cable joints and Earthing connections and control cables checked at all platforms of WTG also the
torquing of earthing connection is checked using torque wrench.
MV cables IR test is conducted at 5 KV for 60 sec with High voltage insulation tester [Analogue]. For
Hipot 28 KV and 34KV is applied for 60 sec and leakage current reading is noted, instrument used is
100 KV DC Dieclectric Test Set
Cable armor and shield continuity is checked by multimeter (other end of cable and shield connected
to ground)
In GSU insulation test, insulation between HV-G, LV-G and HV-LV is carried using High voltage
insulation tester, HV-G is done at 5KV while LV-G and HV-LV is done at 500V. Turns ratio is checked by
applying 80V on secondary side of GSU, turns ratio and deviation is verified.
Cable joints and earthing connections and control cables checked at all platforms of WTG also the
torquing of earthing connection is checked using torque wrench.
Current measurements are noted with w.r.t CT. Overcurrent protection [DTOC & IDMT Characterstics]
of Line Bay and Traffo Bay are performed. Pick-up current [Desired Pickup is 0.5 A] and trip time
{desired for DTOC is 800ms] is verified. Also the Definite time and Inverse Defininite Minimum Time
[Standard Inverse] characterstic curve is verified. Similarly earth fault element is tested on the same
principle with desired pickup of 0.2 A

Current and Voltage measurements are noted w.r.t CT and VT. Reach of distance relay for all zones is
checked by applying impedance and its characterstics angle. Futhermore residual compensation
factor is included to check the reach for ground faults. VT Supervision is checked. Switch-on-to-fault
timing is checked for zone 1, 2 and 3 [for zone 2 faults trip is same as for zone 1 faults]. Futhermore
Fault location is also foundout by feeding respective percentage of impedance and checking for the
same for location. Tele-protection schemes for distance protection is verified and Auto-Reclosure and
synchronism check was monitored.
Current is injected at MV BusBar [shorted] , then output is measured at individual CTs. Current is
measured on both cores and measurements are noted for both phase-ground and phase-phase. For
MV Circuit Verification 400V is applied at MV BusBar and voltage measurements are taken at
respective VT's outputs.
