Title of the Activity: Touch Me Not


Target Date: October 7, 2015 (Wednesday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm) (Tentative)
Target Venue: Alumni hall
Target Participants: 50-80 PNU undergraduate students
Target Outcomes:
A. Manifests basic self defense skills
B. Be advocates of anti violence against women and children
C. Be analytical citizens in the moral pursuits of the contemporary world

Rationale:
Many gender issues are present in our society today. Mass media sometimes has been an
agent in either promoting these gender issues or contradicting these issues. Most of the
time, movies or films depicts different gender identities in a wrong manner that is why
this film viewing and at the same time a film reading activity intends to give students an
opportunity to understand more about gender, its different concepts and also the
misconceptions about it. This activity will also open the minds of the students about the
challenges, responsibilities and roles of different gender identities in our society.
Incorporating gender issues in films will help raising the students awareness and
consciousness toward gender sensitivity, empowerment and emancipation.

A. Show support to different gender identities
B. Increase knowledge thru film reading on gender issues that will help in the promotion
of gender equality and development among students
C. Inculcate the values of an open-minded and unbiased human being towards gender
topics by engaging in discussions with the facilitators before and after the film.
