There are a multitude of industry consen
sus codes, standards, rules, and guidelines
onthedesign,constructionandfitnessfor
service in the world. Such International
industrycodesincludeASMEB&PVCode,
API 579/ASMEFFS, European FITNET,
FrenchCodesRCCMandRSEM,German
Guideline FKM, British Standard BS 7910,
R6 and R5, Chinese Code GB/T, Czech
CodeAMEStandard,JapaneseCodeJSME,
etc. Although the evaluation methodolo
gies may dier, there is a need to harmo
nize them to obtain consistent results
among these dierent codes. To this end,
the C&S Committee has supported and
oered opportunities to share information
of mutual interests at PVP Conferences
overtheyears.
The C&S main topics of interest are in the
areas of design and construction criteria,
integrity assessment methods, repair and
mitigation technologies, inservice inspec
tions and flaw evaluations, high tempera
ture codes and new criteria for code im
provement. The papers in C&S contain
technicaldocuments that describe suggest
ed code changes and even propose new
standards. We emphasize new code devel
opments and provide a venue for publish
ing technical basis papers that discuss the
fundamentaltheoryandphilosophybe
Codes&Standards.

This years conference, PVP2016, will be

session topics. The C&S Committee ses
sions for this year conference are being

the C&S Track are related to International
Codes (Europe, China, Japan and the US),

held its annual meeting during the PVP
2015 Conference in Boston, MA. The HPT
Committee is an international committee
with representatives from ten countries
and four continents. For the PVP 2015
Conference, the Committee organized
technical & panel sessions that covered
variousaspectsofhighpressuretechnolo
gy. During the conference a panel session

to ASME Codes and Standards was met
withgreatinterest.Infutureyears,Iexpect
more participation from the API High
Pressure HighTemperature community
within the High Pressure Technology

A new Era of Service to the Pressure Vessels and Piping Industry
PVP-2017: Join us in Waikoloa, Hawaii, for a new era of the ASME Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference!
After helping to advance the Pressure Vessels, and Piping Industry for the last 50 years, the ASME-PVP is
starting a new era of services to the industry. More than 180 paper and panel sessions are planned, as well as
tutorials, a Technology Demonstration Forum, and the 25th Rudy Scavuzzo Student Paper Symposium and
Competition. The PVP Conference is a great place to exchange ideas and to meet colleagues as we all work
to create and advance Pressure Vessels and Piping technologies for our global community of practice. The
PVP Conference is a recognized forum for fruitful exchange of ideas with participants from over 40 countries
in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and the Oceania islands. The ASME Pressure Vessels
& Piping Division will sponsor the PVP-2017 Conference with participation by the ASME NDPD Division.
GENERAL TOPICS: (1) Codes & Standards; (2) Computer Technology & Bolted Joints; (3) Design & Analysis;
(4) Fluid-Structure Interaction; (5) High Pressure Technology; (6) Materials & Fabrication; (7) Operations, Applications & Components; (8) Seismic Engineering; (9) Non-Destructive Examination; and (10) 25th Rudy Scavuzzo Student Paper Symposium and Competition.
SCHEDULE: Abstracts are due by November 7, 2016. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by November 28, 2016. Draft papers are due by February 6, 2017. Paper peer review comments will be returned
by March 6, 2017. A Copyright Agreement Form for each paper must be submitted by April 3, 2017. The final
manuscripts in the standard ASME format for publication must be received by April 10, 2017. All presented
technical papers will be published as referenceable documents available post-Conference.
