SAITE 2016 GENERAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES

1.

The SAITE 2016 COMPETITIONS are open to all PSITER3 institutional members of
good standing. The institutional member school should have a minimum of twenty
five (25) delegates to qualify to compete in any of the organized competitions. The
required minimum 25 delegation includes the delegates, competitors and coaches on
a specific date that they will attend.

2.

Invited HEIs (must be PSITE institutional members of good standing) from other
regions must also send a minimum of 25 participants in order for them to qualify to
join competitions.

3.

Every competitor must be a registered SAITE 2016 delegate and a bona fide student
taking ITE programs such as BSCS, BSIT, BSIS, ACT, BSEMC and BSLIS, and is currently
enrolled in the institution that he/she will represent.

4.

A coach must be a:
a.
Recognized member of PSITER3 (institutional member representative or
individual member) for Academic Year 2016-2017
b. a registered SAITE 2016 delegate and
c.
A bona fide faculty member teaching ITE courses in the institution that he/she
will represent as coach.

5.

Each competitor can only join one (1) competition per day.

6.

The competitors and coaches are required to pre-register on or before September 9,


2016 in the competition that they intend to join (via online registration). Links for the
registration form will be given soonest through email.

7.

First-come, first-served basis will be strictly followed for there are competition that
will cater limited slots only. Competitors are not allowed to compete if they fail to preregister on or before the set deadline.

8.

The Committee on Competition reserves the right to extend the pre-registration of


competitions that have a required maximum number of entries/competitors.

9.

The SAITE 2016 events and competitions will be held on September 15-16, 2016 at
Lou-is Convention Center, Balanga City, Bataan, Philippines.

10. Competitors and coaches must present identification (school ID) to the Committee on
Competition for verification of registration during the actual SAITE 2016 event.
11. The list of pre-registered competitors is final and they exclusively have the sole right
to compete. Proxy or representation of the competitors and coaches is not allowed
except for valid reasons or circumstances in which the committee must be duly
informed by the concerned parties during the verification of competition registration.
Failure to do so will automatically mean disqualification of the competitor.
12. The competitors and coaches must wear their SAITE 2016 t-shirt at all times during
the competitions and awarding ceremony.
13. There are some competitions where a sole winner will be declared. However there are
other competitions where Second Runner-up, First Runner-up and Champion will be
declared. Cash prizes, medal, and certificates will be given to winners. Applicability of
the awards can be checked in the individual competition guidelines.
14. The participating school, coaches, and competitors will receive Certificate of
Participation.
15. All entries submitted shall become property of PSITER3.
16. The Committee on Competition neither the Organizers of the SAITE 2016 shall not be
held liable in any lost or damages of the equipment brought by the competitors during
the competition.
17. Questions, queries and/or clarification regarding the rules and any other information
concerning the competitions shall be addressed to the Committee on Competition
prior to the start of the competition. Otherwise the committee reserves the rights not
to answer such. The school concerned shall write a formal letter addressed to the
Committee on Competition for actions.
18. Violations in any of the above guidelines will mean an automatic disqualification of
the competitor.
19. By entering in the competition, the competitors and coaches agree to abide by the
guidelines, terms and conditions set.

The quiz master shall read each question twice.


Each team will be provided by the Committee on Competition with writing materials
(board, eraser and chalk) for writing their answers before the start of the Quiz Bee.
10. The top three teams who garner the highest cumulative score shall be declared
winners. In case of a tie, a knock out system shall be applied until the winner is
determined.
11. Winners will receive the following:
a. Champion 3,000.00 cash, Gold Medals & Certificate of Winning
b. 1st Runner up Silver Medal & Certificate of Winning

NEWS LETTER WRITING AND LAY-OUTING CONTEST (JUNIOR & SENIOR CATEGORY)
1. This competition is for BSIT, BSCS, BSIS, BLIS and BSEMC students only.
2. Each qualified school can send only one team per category with the following valid
composition.

3. Entries must be submitted to the Committee on Competition before 2:00pm of the event
day.
4. There is no limit to the hardware, software, or equipment that will be used to complete
the final newsletter. But for the computer unit, participants are required to bring their
own device and extension cords.
5. The contents of the newsletter should focus on the theme and activities conducted in the
event day (i.e. Arrival time of participants of the event Morning Session of the event
day).
6. The student's name and or the name of the school must not be printed anywhere on the
newsletter. Only entry number should be written on the upper right corner of the page.
The newsletter should focus on the SAITE 2016 event. The theme of the event
Technology: Riding the Wave of Change should also be a part of the newsletters text
and design aside from the theme that will be given by the Committee on Competition.
7. Contestants will develop a one page final newsletter (one sheet 8 x 11 letter). The
Committee on Competition will print all the output for judging.
8. The contest requires the use of original art work and photographs.
9. Any photograph or entry that appears to be offensive to the general public or not in
normal ethical form will be a ground for disqualification. Likewise, the use of
downloaded artworks and photos will be a ground for disqualification.
10. Any violations or omissions would mean disqualification of entry.

Each team must be composed of 6(minimum) to 8 (maximum) members. One (1)


faculty coach is required (faculty coach is not part of the dance production).
Only one music shall be used by all competing teams. The official song is Trumpets by
Sak Noel & Salvi ft. Sean Paul.
The official dance track will be exclusively provided by the Committee on Competition
and shall be used during the actual day of the Dance Craze Competition. Be sure that
the competing groups will be using the original dance track provided during their
practice.
Strictly one official entry per qualified institution member only.
Only the first ten (10) officially registered/paid groups will be allowed to compete.
Competing teams are allowed to use appropriate costume. Teams with too revealing
costumes will not be allowed to compete.
Props are not allowed.
The judging criteria shall be based on the following:

ADOBE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHOTO EDITING COMPETITION (BY:
GETCRE8IVE)

1. Each qualified institutional member can send only one competitor.


2. One (1) faculty coach is required but not allowed to coach or instruct during the
competition proper.
3. A workshop will be conducted first in the designated area after the 8:30am
competition registration. ADOBE trial software will be installed by the
GETCRE8IVE to the laptops of the competitors.
4. This is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) competition. Ideally each team should
bring his/her own laptop, camera, charger, computer connector/card reader for
photo transfer, extension outlet, etc.
5. GETCRE8IVE will supervise this competition. Only competitors, competition
committee and GETCRE8IVE personnel are allowed inside the competition area.
6. The venue of the competition will be announced during the actual event.
7. Other requirements and specifications of the competition will be announced by
the GETCRE8IVE during the workshop.
8. No name or any mark identifying the school/photographer/competitor shall be
included in the photo itself.
9. Violation of any of the rules stated here and/or non-compliance shall be ground
for automatic disqualification.
10. The criteria for judging is as follows:

Each qualified school can send only one team per day.
Each team is composed of three (3) members.
One (1) faculty coach is required but the faculty coach is not allowed inside the
competition area.
This is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) competition. Ideally each member of the
team should bring his/her own laptop.
TORO.IO will supervise this competition. Only competitors, Committee on
Competition and TORO.IO personnel are allowed inside the competition area.
The development platform will be provided by TORO.IO.
Temporary Username and Password will be provided by TORO.IO one week before
the actual competition. This is to familiarize the competitors of the platform that
will be used.
Official Username and Password for the competition will be distributed during the
orientation both for Day 1 and Day 2.
In the morning of Day 1 and Day 2, competitors are required to proceed to the
competition area after their official registration. Computer Programming
competitors are no longer required to attend the opening program. They are
required to be at the competition venue thirty (30) minutes before the official start
of the competition.
Instructions will be provided by the Committee on Competition as to the actual
venue of the competition. The orientation will start at 9:00am and competition will
follow immediately. The Competition Committee will not allow late competitors to
compete.
The skills required for the competition is HTML 5, CSS and Javascript.
The computer programming problem will be distributed right after the orientation.
Specific duration and the criteria for judging will be announced during the
orientation.

The competition is designed by PSITER3 to promote empowerment programs for
young men and women through the following endeavors:

Honor traditional Filipino traits such as honesty, good character, talent, poise,
intellect, leadership and good judgment among young Filipinos;
Enable contestants to serve as role models for other young men and women with
similar goals and characteristics; and
Encourage contestants to value personal achievements, creative accomplishments,
and healthy lifestyles.

Who are SSITE AMBASSADORS OF GOODWILL?


The AMBASSADORS OF GOODWILL should possess the Filipinos positive traits
and virtues. They must possess the talent and the drive to entertain, meet new people, visit
new places and learn about new cultures. They must also be able to stand out in any
occasion. They are the modern Filipino Youth with a lively spirit and a heart for service.

2. CORPORATE WEAR | 25 POINTS


This will show how candidates carry themselves with as a future IT professionals.
2.1. Appropriate corporate attire must be worn by the candidates.
2.2. Judging will not consider the cost and/or designer label of the corporate
attire that will be worn by the candidates.
2.3. Candidates will be judged on how they show confidence and glamour with
their choice of corporate attire and how the corporate attire accentuates
their figure.

3.3 Candidates will be judged on how they show confidence and glamour with their
choice of formal wear and how the formal accentuates their figure.

4. BEAUTY AND PERSONALITY | 25 POINTS
4.1 The contestant will be judged on the overall look of the candidates and the way
they carry themselves on stage.

1. The candidates will be trimmed down into 3 three pairs of finalists. Their scores will be
reset to zero.
2. Questions will be provided by Judges and/or the organizing committee.

RULES
1. Candidates must be bona fide students of the school he or she is representing. He or she
will be required to submit two proofs of identification.
2. Candidates agree to abide all existing rules of the PSITE AMBASSADORS OF
GOODWILL
3. Candidates must be of good moral character and has not been convicted of any crime.
4. Candidates must be single, 53 in height for female and 57 for male.
5. Candidates must conduct themselves in a proper lady-like and gentlemanly manner and
portray high moral standards.
6. It is mandatory that candidates conduct themselves above and beyond reproach. This
means that they will refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, smoking in public, vulgar
language and/or outburst of any kind and unacceptable socializing with a
boy/girlfriend (intimate display of affection) in public especially during the SAITE Days.
7. Candidates are expected to be ON TIME on all functions and events scheduled by the
committee.
8. Only two (2) chaperones (make-up artist/ trainer/ friend or
relative/teacher/classmate) with official identification card are allowed backstage
during the pageant proper.
