2.0 SYNOPSIS
Leadership and Professional Ethics for Engineers is designed to introduce to the students the basics
of leadership, leaders attributes, management and organizational skills, developing and building
teams, managing change, conflicts and crises in all aspects of practice i.e. industry, private or
government organisation. Alongside the students are also given the essentials of ethics for
engineers as the core value that can be applied in dealing with real engineering practice. To
complement the theory learnt, students are required to do assignments on current national/world
issues that provide views or critical thinking in offering solutions. The students are also required to
perform community project in preparation for them to become leaders.
3.0 OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to ;
CO1. Discuss on the principles of leadership and characterize leaders from engineering perspective (C2)
CO2. Evaluate and argue on various issues/dilemmas by referring to professional codes of ethics, moral
frameworks and social problem solving. (C5)
CO3. Collaborate effectively with team members, drive change and manage conflicts and crises. (C6)

SEMINAR

Students are grouped in 6-7s. Select your own team member an choose a leader
Each team member must select a topic from the assignment given.
The leader must present introduction and overall conclusion
Oral presentation is allotted 15 mins + 5 mins Q & A
