Identification and control of fireweed infestations
pest animals
Whats it all about?
Fireweed some native species and the very invasive and toxic Madagascan species have been flowering and seeding prolifically in South East Queensland this spring. While most infestations in Ravensbourne appear to be native species, some specimens of the Madagascan one may have been found. Agronomist Andrew Somervaille, together with Jim OSullivan from TRC and Pedro Hodgson from Biosecurity Queensland will lead discussion about identifying and managing the weed. We hope to be able to see the results of a herbicide trial.
