CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE

Kidney damage for 3 months, as defined by structural or


functional abnormalities of the kidney, with or without decreased GFR
or GFR <60 mL/min/1.73m2 for 3 months, with or without kidney
damage.

CRITERIA FOR CKD (either of the ff. present for 3 months)


Markers of Kidney damage:
Albuminuria >30mg/day
Urine sediment abnormalities (hematuria, red cell casts, etc)
Electrolyte and other abnormalities due to tubular disorders
Abnormalities detected by histology
Structural abnormalities detected by imaging
History of kidney transplantation
Decreased GFR:
GFR <60mL/min/1.73m2 higher risk of complications of CKD
[Drug toxicity; Metabolic and Endocrine complications; CVD and
death]
Albuminuria categories:
