1 Introduction:
This note covers release 6.08T of the 6113 System Software for use on the
6113 Test set.
TLVs, i.e. Enable Power saving (#271) and Randomise fill bits
(#289) have been moved from one coda to another depending upon
their conditions.
The values of the two timers have been altered, which are t3106_f
and t3106_d. Initially, their values were 800 & 1180, now it has
been modified to 1000 & 1200.
BSC release ID 11 has been added in the code for its proper
functioning.

3 Installation:
The software can be transferred to the test set either by memory card or
GPIB. For additional information refer to the Handbook.
For memory card users, copy the contents of the folder Software\Via
Memory Card onto a memory card, then (on the test set) go to Self Tests
/ System, Update Software. Enter the password as requested.
For a PC with GPIB connectivity, first determine the type of BBP board
fitted in the test set by examining the Hardware Options (on the test set),
go to Self Tests / System, Test Set Options.
Hardware Option 018 indicates that an Enhanced BBP board is fitted,
016 indicates that an Extended BBP board is fitted; otherwise a standard
BBP board is fitted.
Run the Winload.exe in the relevant folder of one of Software\Via
PC\Enhanced BBP or Software\Via PC\Extended BBP or Software\Via
PC\BBP, and follow the instructions (use automatic file selection). Enter
the password when requested.
Important Note:
If installing from a memory card and the 6113 currently contains an
Aeroflex software release version prior to 5.07A, then it will be necessary
to install this software version twice. This is due to part of the embedded
release installing core code that senses the test set's hardware
configuration. Installing the software a second time allows the test set to
determine the correct components of this release to install.

5 Description of Changes:
The following functionality has been added to, or improved, in the 6113
System Software in this release:
BTS attenuation introduced in place of BTS Tx Level to support R11BTS software version. The purpose of BTS attenuation is to add more
granularity in power control for R11 (BTS software version) onwards
whereas BTS Tx Level would be enabled upto R10 and will be disable
R11 onwards. BTS Tx Level option (max to 6) provide 2 dB decrement
in transmitter power in change of two consecutive levels and max
denotes the transmitter power as 43 dB and 6 for 31 dB. In case of BTS
Tx attenuation options (max to 319) provide 0.1 dB decrement in
transmitter power if in change of two consecutive levels. Max to 319
denote the transmitter power as 43 dB and 31 dB respectively.

7 Points to Note:
7.1 BBP Configuration
Test sets with the Enhanced BBP board fitted are not compatible with
software prior to version 6.01.
The type of BBP board fitted in the test set can be determined by
examining the Hardware Options using the test set GUI: go to Self
Tests / System menu, and select the Test Set Options.
Hardware Option 018 indicates that an Enhanced BBP board is fitted.
