Ones, Tens, Hundreds Exchange Game

I hope you enjoy this Place Value Exchange Game! It’s perfect to help your students

understand the value of ones, tens, and hundreds by exchanging 10 ones (cubes) for a

long (10 stick) and 10 longs/sticks for a hundred flat.

or against a partner. I use real Base-Ten Blocks to play in school (partners) but designed this to be used in school or sent home to practice/play with a family member.

So easy to play independently

You could… *Copy on construction paper or cardstock and have kids either cut out one sheet (for one person) OR cut out TWO sheets which is enough for 2 players. Send home pieces in a baggie along with directions/game board OR send home EVERYTHING and have kids cut at home before playing.

*Allow kids to keep at home so they can play often OR collect and store for next year.

*Directions follow on next page! TWO versions but only difference is that one says to use attached Base-Ten Blocks while other says to cut them out.

*If you don’t have a die, write the numbers 1-6 on pieces of paper and put them in a cup. Take one for each turn. Be sure to place the paper back into cup after your turn and mix the pieces of paper up.

*Can be played with TWO or more dice for an extra challenge.
