Beginning
Installation prerequisite
Factory module works with Dolibarr from version 3.4.x and php version 5.3. It has to be installed
as any Dolibarr module: unzip the archive file in the main folder.

Factory activation and configuration

Factory administration screen can be accessed from the module list on the icon on the right.
In case of utilization with Equipment and ReStock modules, it can be necessary to inactivate and
activate again modules after Factory set up.
In case of simultaneous use of these modules, first install Factory, then Equipment and/or
ReStock.
Attention: It is necessary to activate the numbering of production order and to select document
sheet in factory set up.

Factory user guide

Mass production
Mass production mode offers to fabricate large quantities of products from a defined composition
that does not change or not much, with identified components in Dolibarr.
The mode works from Factory tab on a Dolibarr product card.
Remark: to be fabricated , a product has to be to sell and stock module has to be activated.
Factory offers to fabricate mass production products according to 2 methods:
Direct Manufacture: products manufacture is launched directly without using production
order and manufacture planning and follow-up.
Production order (OF): This mode uses manufacture orders to follow-up products
manufacture (planning, length, consumption and effective production).
The next and first step is common to both methods.

Product composition definition and components cost

Before launching a manufacture, product composition has to be determined selecting components
and their quantities.

Composition definition and raw products prices are defined on the first tab of Factory. The same
screen displays products including the product to fabricate as a component.

Factory user guide

Virtual products definition retrieval

If a composition of a virtual product has been recorded before, Factory allows retrieving it clicking
on virtual composition retrieval button.
This button appears only if:

No composition is defined for the product

The virtual product function is activated.

To select components, Factory works as Dolibarr for virtual products with Composition
definition button.
A first step filters products from key words or from a category.
Search for a product name and/or click on search
Tick the boxes of necessary component products.
Enter the quantities of products

End by clicking on add/modify button, a dashboard summarizes the recorded data.

Factory user guide

Products valorization retrieval

By default, supply and purchase prices are not retrieved in a composition because it is possible to
modify these items

Prices (supply and sale) retrieval button allows retrieving these data from the component
products.

Factory user guide

Components valorization retrieval

Before launching a production, it is possible to modify the prices of the components clicking on
adjust prices button.

The page allows modifying supply and purchase prices. In case of error, it is still possible to come
back to the initial valorization with the retrieval button.

Components valorization update

It is possible, before launching a production, to valorize components using adjust prices button.

The screen allows then to modify the prices. In case of mistake it is possible to retrieve original data
using again the same button.

Factory user guide

Remark about products valorization

It is possible the set the display of price according to users. The set up can be made from the user
rights administration.

Different Factory boards dont display the prices any longer.

Stock movements in fabrication processes

Factory main function is to update stocks of components products and composed products.

10

Factory user guide

Direct manufacture
Once composition is defined, Factory allows a direct manufacture (without production order). This
mode is useful in case of simple products composition that dont need a planning.
To use the method, click on direct manufacture button.

According to components stock in warehouses, Factory determines the quantity of products that
can be composed in which warehouse. (If 0 is displayed, it means that no product can be
composed).

The quantity calculated by Factory can be modified according to the production needs.
Once manufacture is done with launch manufacture , components stocks are decreased of the
used quantity and composed products are increased of the quantity made.

11

Factory user guide

Production order
Production order launch
A manufacture is launched from a product card, Factory tab, and Production order second
level tab. The page then displays the registered composition and available quantities per warehouse.
Here, it is possible to send an e-mail to the warehouse contact.

Before clicking on production order button, warehouse data, quantities, planned date and time
manufacture and other necessary information have to be filled in.

12

Factory user guide

Manufacture order validation

A manufacture order is validated when a validated manufacture date is entered.

At that step, stocks are modified according to quantities corresponding to the manufacture.
Manufacture card summarizes registered data.

Manufacture report
At the end of the manufacture, the manufacture manager adjusts stocks, entering real quantities of
composed and used products.
If necessary, stocks are updated with end the manufacture button.

13

Factory user guide

Production order report pdf document (capucin)

It is possible to create a pdf document summarizing production order data. This document can be
sent by email from the manufacture card.

14

Factory user guide

Warehouse contact and production order mail

Factory adds a tab on the warehouse card. Contacts and users can be associated on this tab.
This new tab allows defining managers and internal intervenient.

Once this set up is done, it is possible to send production order by e-mail.

Unique items manufacture / Project mode.

Beginning
The manufacturing method requires the creation of a project and tasks. A task is a manufacture
process step.

How it works
Factory uses the Dolibarr native project and composition modules and adds two tabs :
-

A first tab on the task card allowing selecting products that are planned to be used in the
realization of the task.

A tab on the project card to follow-up the consumption of products along the project.

Factory project mode allows using a registered composition in a new product clicking on Use
composition in a product button.
A made-to-measure product is a set of products and services. Unlike a mass product, a made-tomeasure product is not manufactured according to a composition and is not in the product list of
Dolibarr.
Consumed products can be registered on tasks of a validated and activated project.

Products management on project task

Definition of products used in the task
As in a mass production manufacturing, products can be selected as components in a task to define
a composition.

Edit composition , Prices retrieval and Adjust prices buttons work in the same way as
mass production manufacturing.

Adjust product consumption in a task

In a validated project, it is possible to enter the consumed products in a task.
These quantities are:
Quantities really consumed in the manufacturing
Quantities of lost products that have been affected to the task but that have not been used
(lost, broken)
Sum of these two quantities should be equal to the quantities affected to the task and can evolve
with the advancement of the task.

17

Factory user guide

Project consumption follow-up

Used products tab on project card displays the list of products used in the project and their
quantities.
It is possible to display details clicking on the plus ( + ) at the beginning of the line

Quantities displayed in the board are:

Planned Qty:

planned quantity at the beginning of the project.

Affected Qty: quantities affected to the project from a warehouse.

Used Qty :

quantity used in the task

Lost Qty:

quantities affected to the project but not used (lost, broken)

Missing Qty: quantity remaining to order to complete the project.

It is possible to create a stock movement on the project clicking on the vehicle.

18

Other functions
Products declinations management
How it works
The aim of this function is to generate as many products as defined declinations.
To do it, Factory uses composition creation and category management.
This function works from products categories (category module has to be activated).
Products are classified in 3 categories:
-

Root products group used for the declination (ROOT): products in this group are not to sell,
neither to buy, but are used to define the basis price.

Declinated products group (VARIANTS) : products in this group are not to sell, neither to
buy, but are used to define a price to be added to the base price.

Catalog product group (CATALOG) on sale.

Once categories are defines, products, classifying, catalogue generation process has to be used :

set "not to sell" catalog category product

delete catalog category product components

create of all the different declinations

-

if a declined product is already in the catalog category :

-

update data

set the product to be sold.

if a declined product is not in the catalog category (new)

-

create of the product with root and variant data

set the product to be sold

add components

add the product in the catalog category

21

Factory user guide

Declination example
Example : shoes, sizes and colors
Create in ROOT two pairs of shoes (A : 45 and B : 55)
Create 2 categories: size and color
In size category, add products size 36, 37, 38 and 42. Size 42 will be 1 more expensive.
In color category, creat products blue, white, red, for 1 more.

To define ROOT A product declination, add declination to its composition :

- 36 and 42 as size
- blue and white as colors

To define ROOT B product declination, add declination to its composition :

- 36 and 37 as size
- blue and red as colors

On ce generation ends, products in catalog category will be :

A_36_blue at 55
A_36_white at 55
A_42_blue at 56
A_42_white at 55
B_36_blue at 55
B_37_red at 56
B_36_blue at 55
B_37_red at 56
