More Fatalities but Fewer Non-Fatal
Injuries at work in 2015

Number of workplace fatalities increased from 60 in 2014 to


66 in 2015.

Correspondingly workplace fatality rate increased from 1.8


per 100,000 employed person in 2014 to 1.9 in 2015.

Non-fatal injuries declined slightly from 2014.


Workplace Major Injuries dropped by 11% from 672 cases in
2014 to 597 in 2015. Minor Injuries also dropped by 9.1%
from 12,863 cases in 2014 to 11,688 in 2015

Construction remained top contributor of workplace fatalities


with 27 cases (41%) followed by Transportation and Storage
15 cases (23%)

Falls (Incl STF) remained leading incident type for Fatal cases
contributing 23 (35%) cases followed by Struck By Moving
Objects 10 (15%) and Work-related Traffic 10 (15%) cases.

DO cases involving Cranes increased by 83% from 12 in 2014


to 22 in 2015
