Loyola Research Park has been established to involve UG and PG students

Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India, has
recognized the quality scientific research done in Loyola College by the approval granted to it on
01.04.2011 of tax exemption under clause (ii) sub section 1 of section 35 of the Income Tax Act 1961.
This approval enables 175% weighted deduction from the Gross Total Income to the donors of Loyola
College Society for the purpose of scientific research.

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE

DDU KAUSHAL Kendra is a UGC sponsored


programme at Loyola College. It provides
skill based courses which make students
gain employment. Courses that are
presently offered are B. Voc. and M. Voc.
in 3D Animation and B. Voc. and M. Voc.
in Digital Journalism. These programmes
are offered to the students with quality
education, experienced staff and advanced
infrastructure.

Loyola is well-known for the creative and inspiring
activities of the students in the campus. There are sports,
cultural and spiritual activities that keep the campus life
endearing and inspiring.

STUDENTS UNION
Students Union leaders are elected to represent the students
issues within the campus and improve the quality of service of
students by organising Ovations, Ignite and other spectacular
multi-cultural programmes.

Twenty three clubs offer exposure to students to develop people

APPLYING FOR ADMISSION


Admission to Loyola is competitive. The selection policies and process are unique. We encourage
applicants from diverse social, cultural, economic, ethnic and geographical backgrounds.

ELIGIBILITY FACTORS
Loyola gives preference to the students coming from
the neighbouring districts. The inclusive tradition
of loyola welcomes students from other states and
countries.
Women students may apply for all the Post Graduate
courses and also for VISCOM, B.M.M. (Animation)
French Lit. and B.Voc. in Under Graduate courses.
Students who have completed the Tamil Nadu Higher
Secondary Course or any other course recognized
by the University of Madras as equivalent to it, are
eligible for admission to the bachelors degree course.
The applicants who have passed the following
examination should submit an eligibility certificate
from the University of Madras.
Higher Secondary or equivalent examination
conducted by all other State Boards except
Tamil Nadu
All degree (UG/PG) examinations conducted by
any university other than University of Madras /
foreign countries
The online registration process should be completed
within 10 working days from the date of publication
of the result. If the results are not published for any
board before the last date of the online submission of
application, then the students are asked to complete
the online registration within 3 days from the date of
publication of the result of those boards.

INTERVIEW
At the time of interview the
original documents of all

produced for verification.

STEP - 7: APPLICATION GENERATION

Institution : Choose SHIFT-I or SHIFT-II.


Shift-I timing is 8.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. Government Aided Courses
Shift-II timing is 1.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Self Supporting Courses
Course Applied for : Choose one or more courses to apply either in Shift-I or in Shift-II
separately from the list of eligible courses. The applicant can apply for more than one course in
one shift or in both shifts.
Course/s in Shift-I and Shift-II should be applied separately from the generation of application menu.
Confirm the course/s applied for.

STEP - 8: PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE

The cost of each application along with Processing fee is ` 150 for UG, ` 200 for PG and
` 500 for M.Phil.
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe applicants need not pay the cost of application, but only the
processing fee of ` 123 each for UG, ` 158 each for PG and ` 500 for M.Phil. should be paid.
You can pay the cost of application fee through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking or Cash in any
branch of Axis Bank (through EASY PAY) as per your convenience. For EASY PAY in any branch of AXIS
BANK, a challan should be generated and money should be paid.
You are allowed to cancel the course/s applied till you pay the cost of the application/s.
A summary is displayed in View application status.
After the Payment of application fee, application number will be generated and the status will be sent to
the candidate by SMS and through email.

The applicant can apply for any number of courses eligible to him/her. After the payment, an application
number will be created for each course. The applicants are allowed to take printout of each application
after the registration and payment.

NOTE TO PARENTS

The college expects the students to be highly


focussed in academics and make maximum use of
the facilities available for holistic development. No
student is allowed to take tuitions privately from the
teachers of this college. Exams will be conducted
periodically. Attendance is compulsory and
promotion will depend on their regularity. During the
course of the study, students are encouraged to take
any additional diploma/ certificate course offered
by various institutes in the campus, relevant to their
subject specialization. Students coming from Tamil
medium will have free Special English coaching
classes and enabling classes during the first year.

Parents and guardians are asked to follow the


students progress in studies and his/ her general
conduct in and outside the college. Their cooperation is solicited especially to ensure a regular
attendance and academic progress. They are asked
to co-operate with the college authorities in the
formation of their children /wards. Visit regularly

through Student Portal.

DISCIPLINARY NORMS
Loyola is dedicated not only to learning
and advancement of knowledge but also to
developing ethical and responsible human beings.
The disciplinary policies are made with this
uncompromising perspective.
Ragging of any kind and any magnitude inside /
outside the college campus will lead to dismissal.
All students who come to college by two wheelers
are asked to wear a helmet.

The public is informed that the college does not
accept donations in any form for admission.
Beware of anyone who promises you to get an
admission on payment of money. Kindly bring such
malpractices to the knowledge of the Principal/
Admission officer immediately. The mission of the
Jesuits is crystallized in their preferential option
for a large number of Catholics, Dalit Catholics,
first generation learners, orphans, semi-orphans,
differently-abled, neighbourhood children,
refugees, migrants, gypsy children and economically
poor and vulnerable students.

Any kind of disturbing behaviour in the campus is


not permitted.
Smoking, use of drugs, alcohol or peddling
drugs in the campus is prohibited.
Any Ill-treatment, both physical and verbal,
based on gender, caste and religion will lead
to dismissal.
