HYDRA
Comments
1. Body cylindrical and attached to substratum with a pedal disc.
2. Tentacles present with cnidoblast cells.

Comments:
1. Body dorso-ventrally flattened and leaf-like with both oral and ventral sucker.
2. Mouth situated at the anterior end and surrounded by oral sucker.
3. Excretory pore lies at the posterior end of the body.
ASCARIS (Roundworm)
Comments
1. Body elongated, cylindrical and pointed at both ends.
2. Body surface transversely striated and presents pseudo-segmented appearance.
3. A dorsal, a ventral, and two lateral lines extend lengthwise.
4. Excretory pore anterior and mid-ventral in position.

Comments:

4. Clitellum present in 14th, 15th and 16th segments.

1. This is a specimen of cockroach
2. Body is elongated, segmented, bilaterally symmetrical, flattened dorsoventrally and reddishbrown in colour.
3. The head is small triangular and bears two large compound eyes and a pair of antennae at its
upper side.
4. The thorax is divided into prothorax, mesothorax and metathorax.
5. Abdomen is broad and consists of ten segments.

APIS MELLIFERA
1. Commonly known as honey bee, exhibits polymorphism and division of labour.
2. A social insect living in colonies consisting fertile female, the queen, several sterile females,
the workers and fertile males, the drones.
3. Thorax consists of three segments with a pair of legs in each segment.
4. Two pairs of wings are placed on the dorsal side of the thorax.

Comments:
1. Endoskeleton is bony. Body laterally compressed, has overlapping cycloid scales.
2. There are five pairs of gills slits covered by an operculum.
3. Tail homocercal with fin.
4. Paired appendages are in the form of fins for locomotion.
