1 Haven for Hope Way, San Antonio, Texas 78207

Octobers Parish Monthly Outreach - Project of Mercy
will be on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 6am to 9am at
St. Vinnys Bistro located in Haven for Hope.
Please join us in being a witness to mercy by serving our
homeless brothers and sisters transiting through Haven for
Hope. Our group of volunteers will help prepare and serve
the breakfast meals, as well as visit and socialize with our
brothers and sisters as they eat their meals.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Must wear a hair
restraint (such as hair net or baseball cap), closed toed
non slip shoes, long pants (no shorts), and shirt with short
or long sleeves (no sleeveless shirts). If you would like to
volunteer, please call/text me @ (210) 845-6695 or email
me @ salnsonia@hotmail.com. You can also call the
Parish Office at 654-1643 to volunteer. We will meet in
the front parking lot of SJN between 5 - 5:15am; and then
all caravan and/or carpool to Haven for Hope.
Please rememberit is through serving others; especially
those less fortunate, that Our Lord, Jesus Christ blesses
each of us. When we are merciful and do unselfish acts of
mercy; we let others see the face of Jesus and feel His
unconditional love.
May God provide for our needs and lead us to share our
gifts with those in need, by the power of the Holy Spirit
working in us. Amen. Thank you and God bless you all.
Your Brother in Christ,
Salvador Ordorica
Life, Justice & Peace

As one of our October PMO projects, so that more of our

SJN Parishioners may participate, we are collecting mens
socks and underwear for Catholic Wor ker House.

container located in the church foyer. Thanking you for
your generosity in Advance.

RECYCLING SUCCESS!!!!
The Green Team would like to thank
everyone who volunteered and took
part of the recycling effort during the
Fall Festival. We eliminated the use of
foam plates and items that can be
recycled were used during the Festival!
The amount of waste was at a very
minimal. We as a parish recycled to
the point, that our recycling dumpster
overfilled!! If you would like to join our efforts in making
our parish more Green, contact Grisel Hernandez-Blanco
at 210.439.9951. Our meetings are every 1st Thursday of
each month, at 6:30pm in the Parma Room. Thank you!

Nurturing and cherishing creation is a command God
gives not only at the beginning of history,
but to each of us. It is part of this plan; it
means causing the world to grow
responsibly, transforming it so that it may
be a garden, a habitable place for
everyone.-Pope Francis
