The bonding primer on a steel structure for use in

the interior and protected exterior for the subsequent application of the Knauf SIBATERM Outdoor
anti-fire plaster.

Composition
The bonding primer comprises a mixture of water
and plasticiser.

General instructions

The base must be dry, degreased, free of dust and

impurities, as well as separation layers, such as
rust, etc. Old non-cohesive coats must be removed preferably in a mechanical way and, in
case of irremovable residues, their compatibility
with and adhesion to the base must be tested. For
old irremovable coats it is necessary to test the
adhesion of both the SIBATERMGRUND bonding
primer and the Knauf SIBATERM Outdoor plaster. The bonding primer is spread on steel structures coated with a ground, optimally alkyd (synthetic) coat.

In plastic containers of 5 kg.
Storing
Store in a dry and cool place, protect against freezing. After opening, always carefully close the container. Use up the contents within 6 months.

The air and base temperature during application

and hardening must not drop below +5 C. A higher
humidity and lower temperatures may have a substantial impact on the time of the bonding primer
drying. Do not blend in any other materials. The
surrounding of the coated area must be protected;
possible splashes (used tools) must be immediately
washed with a sufficient quantity of water.

Safety and industrial hygiene

Prevent contact with your skin. Protect your eyes
(protective glasses). After contact, rinse with running water. In case of need, seek medical attention.
During application it is necessary to comply with
valid standards and general processing and professional principles.

Application
It is fundamental not to dilute the bonding primer.
Before application, the bonding primer must be
thoroughly mixed with a slow motion mixer. Pay
attention to a uniform coverage of the primed
area. For application it is recommended to use a
paint roller or brush. The thickness of the coat is
10 20 m; for two applications it is necessary to
observe a two hour technological delay between
coats. Before applying the Knauf SIBTERM Outdoor plaster is necessary to observe a two hour
technological delay. The maximum delay is 24
hours.
