GUIDE IN REVIEWING AND VALIDATING THE RHIS REPORTS

1. NATALITY REPORT
Outcome of Pregnancy (Item 1)
- is the total of Item 1.1 Abortion, Item 1.2 Stillbirth, Item 1.3 Live deliveries
and Item 1.4 Late registration
- must be equal to: Place of delivery and type of delivery (Item 2); and
- must be equal to: Attendant at birth (Item 3)
No. of women with live deliveries (Item 4)
must be equal to: Sum of Live Deliveries (Item 1.3) and Late registration
(Item 1.4)
No. of Newborn Infants (Livebirths only) (Item 5)
must be equal to : No. of Livebirths, born in the current year
registered in the EPI-TCL this
month (Item 4 of Child Care Report)
2. MATERNAL CARE REPORT
a) TT2+ is the total of TT2, TT3, TT4, TT5 and TTL
b) No. of anemic pregnant women (Item 3.1) is equal or less than No. of
pregnant women with 1st hemoglobin determination (Item 3)
c) No. given iron supplementation (Item 3.1.1) is equal or less than No. of
anemic pregnant women (Item 3.1)
d) No. of pregnant women with birth plan (Item 4) is equal or less than No. of
pregnant women with First prenatal visit (Item 1). Note: with birth plan
means information related to delivery, e.g. place of delivery, partner, etc. are
recorded in the i) mother and baby book, ii) HBMR and/or iii) ITR (individual
treatment record)
e) Type of pregnancy of women who delivered this month (Item B 1)
- must be equal to: No. of pregnant women who delivered this month given
iron supplementation (Item B 6)
- must be equal to: Deliveries during the month (Item C 1)
- must be equal to: Outcome of pregnancy (Item 1 of Natality Report)
- is the sum of Normal (Item B 1.1), Risk (Item B 1.2) and No information
(Item B 1.3)
f) Risk (Item B 1.2) is the sum of A (Item B 1.2.1) to I (Item B 1.2.9)
g) No. of pregnant women who delivered this month given iron supplementation
(Item B 6)
is the sum of one month (Item B 6.1) to No information (Item B 6.8)

h) No. of pregnant women who delivered this month received quality prenatal
care (Item B 8) must be equal or less than to: No. of pregnant women
who delivered this month seen by a doctor (Item B 2), No. of pregnant
women who delivered this month seen by a dentist (Item B 3), No. of
pregnant women who delivered this month with 4 or more prenatal visits
(Item B 4), No. of pregnant women who delivered this month with three (3)
basic laboratory examinations (Item B 5), No. of pregnant women who
delivered this month given iron supplementation for six (6) months (Item B
6.6), and No. of pregnant women who delivered this month provided with
health info, advice and counsel on danger signals, etc. (Item b 7).
i) Deliveries during the month (Item C 1)
- is the sum of No. of women who delivered this month (Item C 1.1) and
Late registration (Item C 1.2)
- equal or not less than to: No. of women who delivered with at least two
(2) postpartum visits (Item C 2), No. of women who delivered initiated
breastfeeding (Item C 3), No. of women who delivered given Vitamin A
(Item C 4), and No. of women who delivered provided with health info (Item
C 5)
j) No. of women who delivered this month (Item C 1.1) is the sum of Abortion
(Item 1.1 of Natality), Stillbirths (Item 1.2 of Natality) and Live Deliveries
(Item 1.3 of Natality)
k) Late registration (Item C) is equal to Late registration (Item 1.4 of Natality)
l) No. of PP women who came for clinic visit (Item C 6.1) is equal or less than
to No. of PP women expected to have PP clinic visit (Item C 6)
m) No. of PP women received quality PP care is equal or less than to No. of PP
women who came for clinic visit (Item C 6.1)
n) No. of women who delivered who are anemic (Item C 8.1) is equal or less
than to No. of women who delivered with hemoglobin determination after
delivery (Item C 8)

Corneal Scar
- Number of Male Given Vitamin A must be less than or equal to Male Cases Seen
- Number of Female Given Vitamin A must be less than or equal to Female Cases
